South Shore Prairie Collection Twin Bed with Storage - Platform Bed with 3 Drawers - Country Pine Finish

We have a 4 (almost 5) year old who has been in this bed for a year now. First, it looks like another reviewer has had a problem with a board breaking, and that must be a defect in her particular bed. Not only does our son jump on this thing on a daily basis, but we're often on it too, reading books or just playing around. There's not a hint of any parts giving way. It is as sturdy and solid as day one. As a bed, it works every well. It is low enough to the ground to not worry about falling off, but high enough to have the storage drawers. The drawers work (slide) very well. The bed has felt pads underneath which were a nice touch given we have this on a wood floor. If you're not looking to outlay the cash for a solid wood bed from a real furniture maker, then this is a really great option to go with. Assembly is about as you'd expect with an item like this. It took me maybe 2 hours total.

I got this to make a make shift bedroom at my dads house and needed a platform to hold a memory foam mattress. This was pretty easy to put together and is pretty sturdy. Just right for holding extra sheets and pajamas in the drawers. Would recommend. Decent quality for the price you pay. Not heavy duty by any means but sturdy enough for a man or woman of almost any size. I'm a woman 5'6 and 185, not an issue at all for this bed. Doesn't feel like childrens beds where you're afraid it might not hold up.

Ordered two of these. One was good. All pieces there, matched and better than average instructions. The other, not so good. one thing, the support pieces were obviously scraps. One piece brown the other black. The first bed both were white. Ok cosmetic, not seen. Let go. BUT, the support pieces of the second bed did not have holes drilled. My husband fortunately knew how to drill his own but for someone just going by instructions and only needing a screw driver, this would have been a dead end. Obviously little care was given in putting this box together. I would not recommend it because of that. Apparent carelessness casts serious doubt on quality.

This seems like a good value for the price. I will update this review if it doesn't hold up to regular use.The bed frame assembly itself isn't too bad. I'd say it took about 45 minutes. I was surprised when, despite my lack of craftwomanship, I slid the final boards into place, plopped the mattress on top, and sat my rather large self down on to such a sturdy bed! There wasn't even the tiniest hint of a wobble!The drawers are a giant pain in the behind and had me wondering why I'd bothered getting a captains bed instead of just a metal frame. It took me well over an hour to assemble one drawer (although to be fair, at this point all of the screwing of screws had chewed my screwdriver up pretty badly). The drawer doesn't seem particularly sturdy to me so I've vowed to only put sheets and blankets in them and have threatened the children with eternal punishment if they ever decide to leave the drawer open and step on or in it.After the first drawer I gave up. The bed has two gaping holes in it but otherwise looks pretty sweet. I'm going to buy a new and better screwdriver and assemble the other two drawers when I have a chance. I may preemptively duct tape the heck out of the back and bottom of the drawers for added support.For the past several nights I've crammed my 6 year old, 8 year old, and my rather large self into this little twin bed to read bedtime stories. It has held up without the slightest wobble despite having approximately 400 lbs of human and 30 lbs of stuffed animals piled on top. I'd buy the bookshelf headboard too but at the moment I can't bare the thought of having to assemble anything else.

DO NOT BUY THIS BED! At first, this bed looked solid. My husband put it together and it looked really nice. First day I opened one of the drawers to put my son's clothes in and the drawer fell apart. Literally collapsed into 4 pieces just from pulling the drawer out. My son only slept in this bed for two weeks and it's falling apart. The actual frame of the bed is falling apart now and there is no way to secure the bed back together. My son is only 4 years old and now i don't feel safe letting him sleep in it. There are no nails to secure it, just weird screws that don't hold the bed or drawers together properly. Now I'm stuck buying an entire new bed. I've never been so disappointed in an Amazon product! If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Great bed for the price. Easy assembly sturdy drawers slide in nicely for extra storage

It took me a while to figure out how to put it together but that was not the fault of the instructions. I was not expecting something so sturdy for the price. I have no concerns about it's durability for an adult. Shipping was quick and I've seen the same product for about 50$ more in stores. I was careful not to scratch the pieces while assembling as they are not real wood. This set looks much more expensive than it is.

Absolute junk, made from cheap particle board, didn't survive shipping, most parts came damaged.

Just got 2 of these beds for my kids. I love them, they are a lot nicer looking than I expected for the price. They seem solid enough, and were very easy to assemble. There is literally nothing to complain about. I will be purchasing the matching head boards soon. I would give it 5 stars, but we need to see if it stands the test of time.August 2018Almost 2 years later- the drawers have come apart many times. Glue only works for so long. I used duct tape so hopefully that lasts. The bed itself is starting to wobble a tiny bit. But the finish is perfect. Not a scratch on them. Overall still a good value. I wasn’t expecting high quality. Will be replacing within the year.

Great bed. Very easy to put together. Looks great. Shipping was fast.
