California Umbrella 9' Round Aluminum Market Umbrella, Crank Lift, Collar Tilt, Black Pole, Sunbrella Jockey Red

Generally companies that sell overpriced, inferior quality products, follow through with inferior service when something goes wrong, lol. . Sunlight deteriorated the fabric to the point where it ripped apart when closing the umbrella. Also it NEVER fit properly. Every time you open the umbrella you have to manually place the support ribs in the sleeves on the canopy. Sunbrella has a 5 year fabric warranty, however California Umbrella refused to send me a replacement umbrella fabric. They quoted warranty language that was not on their website. I think I'll stick to the $75 umbrellas that lasted me years in the past and I can buy four of them for the price of this one!

I read many reviews on several brands before I bought this. The umbrella is really awesome. Better than I thought, not having an umbrella for many years. The fabric is heavy duty and very stylish. Wish this heather color was the same price as the Hunter Green but nun the less this is worth the price.I bought the black base from HD and got the black pole with this umbrella. They look like they were made together. Exact match. I read a review about finding the tilt mechanism. It took me a few seconds to figure it out. Maybe I just got lucky. The way this tilts is really trick. It does not have settings. You twist the cuff continuously to get the exact tilt you want. The crank is very sturdy and and has a quality feel.I set this up. Looked at it. Opened it and closed it a few times. Tilted it a few times. And closed it. Went in the house and a storm came through....like 5 minutes later. Enough wind to knock over and move 3 wrought iron patio chairs. The wind also caught the umbrella and the table. It was enough to actually move the table a few feet. A heavy 8' table with glass top. The umbrella came out unscathed. Usually my luck would have been that it would have snapped, dented my grill on the way to the neighbors house, and impaled their dog. But not today. Thanks for building a quality product

Purchased this item on September 21. Finally able to use it this past weekend. Worked great on Saturday, loved this umbrella!!! Would have given a 5 star review that day. Sunday went to use it again and heard a pop as I was putting it up then a piece of one of the poles fell to our table. It was broke in half! For approximately $300 I should be able to use this more than twice! Don't have the box to return it so I'm waiting to hear from the manufacturer if they will replace the pole. I'm very leery about the quality of this item now. Will update if the company makes it right. Disappointing. Not sure if it came broken and opening it up a couple times did it in, or if it's just poor quality materials. I wish amazon would offer a replacement instead of just a return since I don't have the box. Then I could ship the broken one back in the new box.

I liked the bright blue color and it didn’t fade. Negative: The wind broke the metal frame several times. I used metal rods to replace parts of the frame as they broke. After a while, I gave up and threw it out. With repairs, it lasted for one summer.

I received bright white canvas umbrellas and the fabric does not say or feel like Sunbrella fabric even though It clearly states Sunbrella teak which is the color shown.Updating review, after returning wrong umbrellas I did get the correct ones today. Says Sunbrella and they look great. Only 4 stars for now until I see how they hold up.

Loved the 7 ft umbrella when we received it, so we decided to order a larger one. Upon receipt the quality appeared to be the same outstanding quality. That is till we stood it up and cranked it open. The tilt mechanism has no button and the umbrella is partial tilt position. The pole must be manually moved to an upright position to close the umbrella. Very difficult for a 70 year old lady to do. Extremely disappointed.

We bought ten of the California Umbrellas for our pool deck and every last one of them failed in less then 5 months. Most common problem is that the string breaks about 50% failure rate. The other problem was the tilt collar would fail so that you can't lower the umbrella 30% failure rate. The last two the crank mechanism failed. So save yourself from throwing your $328.95 away, because these umbrellas are really, really poor quality.

Not very sturdy. Too light weight and, without a heavy base, will even blow over when it's closed. After several ribs on it broke within the first week, I bought another at Costco and kept the canvas as a replacement.
