So this fan has 2 mounting points with bolts exactly 2 inches apart, using a common power plug in for power- i purchased this for an older fan replacement on looks alone (it looks JUST LIKE the old one) but the box is significantly bigger but with some luck, i realized that the actual fan motor would mount in the old housing using the same mount points so i quickly dis-assembled the housing and pulled the fan free and replaced the old one with this new one - and wow, it makes a big difference, it's faster and quieter than the old one and clears the humidity much faster than the old one ever did!So.. my review is this, i got lucky buying the same fan brand with the same mount points as my old one and it's working great in my OLD fan housing.Thank god the manufacturer uses bolts to hold the fan motor in place instead of rivets!

Bought 2 to replace old units in our newly purchased home. The old ones were downright ugly, dirty and beyond yellowed from time. These took a some effort to install (the old ones took more time to remove) but these are crisp and clean, and work well. Found these to be EXTREMELY well priced compared to local DIY centers and the best part is that they FIT the old opening. Local stores don't have the old sizes unless you special order them, which would have been astronomical in price. Are they quiet? Compared to the old units, yes. But if you are looking for whisper quiet, these are a medium sounding fan - not too loud, not too soft. The thing to consider is the age of your home, the size of the opening, and how easy or difficult it would be to find a replacement for the existing opening. We were lucky that Nu-Tone/Broan make the same size unit to retro fit an old unit. Good for the price and the fact that we didn't have to modify the existing opening.

Admittedly, I purchased this fan more for the size than anything else. Having an existing, very old, bathroom ceiling fan/light that had stopped working, we wanted a new fan/light that wouldn't require a lot of patching to the ceiling. Most new fans are square, and this one is rectangular and close to the size of our previous fan. We hired a contractor to install, and he didn't seem to have any problems with the installation. The size was perfect...just had to do a little painting around the edges and it does the job we need it to do. I took off 1 star because it is loud (not annoyingly so), but it's a fan, and it's going to make noise...and when you're in the shower does it really matter anyway. I know this is a big sticking point for some people, but not really a big deal for us. It does what it's supposed to do.

I replaced an older one that hadn’t worked for years. I ordered it on Wednesday, it was delivered Thursday and installed on Friday.Home Depot has these but they’re not in stock and would have taken 3-4 days.

This replaced the fan/light in bathroom renovation and is the same as original, so no extra cost for sheet rock etc.

Powerful fan, not too loud. Nice unit.

All of it works great. I love having a fan and light right outside the shower. Recommend to anyone..
