UPDATE 2: I bought a second one. Perfect for hauling lots of gear across a wide beach. Also good for traveling, as a pack/suitcase for large items.UPDATE: I'm in the 2nd year with this bag now. It is holding up very well. I seriously overload this bag, and the shoulder/backpack straps show no sign of ripping or failing, etc. For the beach, it holds four large folding beach chairs, large umbrella, fishing net and two small shovels. amazing. end edit.This duffle bag is pretty awesome. It is exactly what I needed. I wanted a big bag for the beach, to carry two beach chairs, umbrella and maybe something else. It swallows all that stuff up perfectly. Best thing is that it has adjustable and padded backpack shoulder straps. It is very thick old fashioned heavy duty canvas, which is fine. Someone else mentioned that it didn't have a drawstring or any way to close the top, but it has a great system where you put the post up through the other holes and then the clip on a strap clips it all closed. It is obvious how that works once you have it and look at the photo provided here for the item.I anticipate using this bag when I next travel and need to bring bulky items. It is awesome.

This is a very well made bag, love that I can carry two weeks of laundry. Very large capacity very solid build all around. The material is tough and durable. I will probably have this in 20 years. Money very well spent.

This is a nice, rugged, military style bag that does a great job and is more than worth the money I paid

I bought for a friend who mentioned they wanted /needed another bag like one they already had. He didn't know I planned to get for him. The deciding factor was next day delivery - there was a similar item less expensive, but couldn't wait weeks. I gave in sealed box. I was present when he opened & upon examination he expressed delighted - said was "perfect". The quality was better than I had anticipated based on a few negative reviews I had read. Looked good, but can't comment further.

My 15 year old son had back to back camps at leadership academy of NJROTC, Encampment for Civil Air Patrol, Voluntary service at summer camp, all within 20 days time. He had to use the bag continuously during that time. All his needs clothes, toiletry, bedding and everything he needed for his trips fitted in easily. Soon he is going for his 5 day SLT Camp. This bag has made his life really easy for everything. Just add plastic bags to separate items inside and that eases the burden of searching through the bag for thing. It is sturdy, durable and easy to carry.

Really the only down side is it is not made in the USA. At least it is from India and not China. This is your classic army duffle bag and is heavy duty canvas. Our scout leader is ex military and this is what he recommended the troop to get. You can wear it like a backpack or carry if like a duffle bag. No zippers (he said those are points of failures). One small pocket on the side with a snap. The top is cool, you just bring the corners together and feed a clip through. Holds a lot of gear.

I needed to buy 2 duffle bags for an upcoming trip. My first choice was an Army surplus bag, I could only find one new one. The second bag I bought, was a Rothco one They arrived the same day. Surprise, surprise, the Rothco bag is much better than the Army surplus. It is heavier material & all around tougher. I am very pleased with it. Had I known before, I would have gotten 2 of the Rothco bags.

Man, does this bag carry a lot of stuff! I bought this for travelling to various conventions and gatherings so I could minimize my footprint in the vehicle for luggage tetris and also to make it easier moving between parking the car and getting to the hotel. On an average loadout I can carry a twin size inflatable bed with sheets and pillows, my clothes bag, toiletries bag, a bag for all my chargers and plugs, a few pairs of shoes, and there is still a lot of space left for activities! The shoulder straps help to keep the bag higher on your back so you don't have to struggle as much to carry the weight. Yes you over load it and you will feel it, but it's much better than having to carry 5-6 different bags at once between both arms. The material is very durable and after multiple uses it still looks like the day it came out of the box. Highly recommended.
