I’d had trouble with food overcooking in the oven in our new house so got this oven thermometer. It works well! Our oven is about 50 degrees too hot and this seems accurate. I use this thermometer regularly in the oven, pretty much daily, and it’s holding up well. It has gotten some discoloration, probably from smoke where a sugary batter fell to the bottom of the oven and burned. It fits in the oven with a quarter size sheet pan. Easy to just place on the oven rack to the side. I’ve had some issues with knocking it down while adding or removing things from the oven. You could also hang it on the rack from a little hook. I would purchase again.

works within 20 degrees or so...also takes a while to reach temp

My husband was a professional chef and still dabbles now and he was convinced our oven in our new home wasn’t reaching proper temp. So this was his solution. Works great. We tested it against known temps and it was accurate. Inside the oven you can either stand it on the bottom or on a rack or hang it from the rack. We hang ours so it’s closer to the middle and where it’s visible from the window. But it clearly shows us our oven isn’t reaching temp so we can adjust. Since getting this my baked items and meals come out better and don’t need as long as they were taking. This is a much easier solution than buying a new oven. Now we can just raise the temp on the oven to hit the proper internal temp. This makes me question every oven I’ve ever owned. I have zero complaints. It works just as described. I’ve bought other food thermometers from this brand and I’ve never had any issues.

I thought my oven kept burning pies because it was inaccurate temperature so I bought this only to discover It was me alone that did the burning. My oven temperature was the same as indicated on this. I keep it hanging on my top rack. If you are expecting cake or breads to rise in the oven be sure and hang it off to the side so it doesn't get baked inside your bread. This is well made. Easy to use. Just hang and that's it. It's big enough you can see without running g to get your reading glasses. This was so inexpensive and an excellent value. I still wonder why is cost so little. It eases my mind thst the temperature is accurate but embarrassing that I've lost my touch on my pie making. This will last a lifetime and would definately recommend

Bought this thermometer to see if my 16yr old oven was functioning at correct temperature after replacing the baking element and having some undercooked food. Works great, it's accurate and the large dial is easy to read! I love how you can hang it in either direction suspended from the racks or stand alone on top of the rack itself. Turns out my oven is working just fine, like new. I would recommend this thermometer to every home cook, 32S3

This is the decent quality I expected, but it’s much bigger than other oven thermometers I’ve seen. The thermometer face is about the size of the palm of a medium sized adult male’s hand. This can be a benefit because the bigger face makes it easier to read the temp without opening the oven door.

It worked well for about a year but then the glass got progressively darker until it became unusable.
