Arrived with all accessories to get it mounted and programmed. Actually very impressed with the size. It fit under my radio between the cubby in a 2016 RDX.Got on 2M calling within minutes of install and a good QSO. For a simple Mobile unit, this works great. Luckily my vehicle runs 14.3 Volts when on so it’s pushing out the marked power. Integrated speaker works great and is plenty loud while clear. Handheld mic provides all the functionality you need.It would be great if instructions provided a QR code to the actual CPS. The ones on the Anytone website did not read the radio but eventually I found the Radioddity DB-20 CPS is the one I needed.

This is a very good dual band vhf/uhf, miniature mobile transceiver. With the manufacturers software installed on your computer, it is easy to enter the frequencies, repeater offsets, tones, etc. I found it small enough to easily fit into the cell phone shelf of my Honda Civic and have room for the Anytone Smart 10 meter, converted to cover 11 meter transceiver to sit above it. you cannot beat the price for the value, so I recommend that ham radio operators purchase, confidently, knowing that it will cover the amateur bands.

Bought this for a Jeep Gladiator which doesn't have much room for a large radio. The instructions are extremely limited so do your research with how to program this radio. There are not many YouTube reviews on this particular radio so search the Radioddity DB20 as they are almost identical. The ad says 20 watt radio, the instructions say 18 watt but I'm actually getting about 16/17 watts of transmit. Combined with the Browning antenna (see my other reviews) it talks at least 50 miles from our local repeater (haven't ventured further yet) with strong modulation with no interference or snow. For the price, the size and "Fars", this is perfect for what I needed it to do. I also researched the bigger more powerful, and expensive (50 watt) radios but this one worked perfect. I have only talked on our local GMRS repeater network and not the simplex channels so I couldn't say how it performs on those.

At first I didn't like it. But i been watching YouTube videos on how to set up reaper channels manually and it works good for it's size and price.. Had to unlock it to set it on GMRS, but price is great, scan setting is awesome as well.. talked 4 to 5 miles the other day with the cheap antenna of amazon but im more of a listener then ... would recommend to anyone

I bought this radio to get back into amateur radio, I know I took a gamble but this radio is absolute trash. It’s not programmable nor does it transmit when manually programmed. I tried programming the radio, after it wrote to the radio, it turned the radio off and when it came back on, none of the buttons worked and the squelch was on continuously. It is an absolute piece of garbage!

This is a good little radio overall but has some serious quirks that would make it hard to recommend for amateur operators or someone not wanting to 'get to know' it if you intend to reprogram it. I didn't try it on FRS but assume it works well. I spent a couple hours fussing with it, and was at one point almost ready to send it back. Once set it is pretty simple to use. Power is good but it does get hot, audio clarity is great, signal reports I am getting are good. You can indeed program it for amateur bands including repeater operation, but not without first resetting the factory defaults using the front keypad and then using the software. I won't outline it here in case it changes but the procedure can be found easily searching online. The 'factory' software did not work for me, but I found a similar model software that did, still very inconvenient. Overall the programming is very clunky and this is missing many of the functions an amateur radio operator would use. It is a great size and feels well constructed. Once operating it is fine but overall I wouldn't recommend unless you are willing to put some time into getting it set up. With an extensive firmware update and some new software I would move it up a star, maybe two if it was cheap enough.

Late review, but the summary is that I like this radio so much I now own two.They got a lot of things right with this radio. It will do ham bands and can be opened up to cover other services easily using the manufacturer supplied radio. Unlike a lot of Chinese radios, this one has a very large number of channels you can program into it. From memory I think it is 500 channels. Scan speed is quicker than many radios, it will do split PL tones no problem. It has a REAL volume control knob! The display is clear and easy to read, but is a bit bright at night (yes, you can turn it down but it's still pretty bright). Signal reports are good. If I remember correctly (i tested this a while ago), VHF was ~ 20W out, UHF ~ 18 watts out.It's much easier to program from the computer, and thankfully they give you a programming cable for it. Software is not the greatest, but it isn't the worse either. I don't know if Chirp yet supports this radio - it did not when I bought mine in early 2022.

Needed small dual band radio for my car. The plus is, this radio can also do GMRS. I like the dual freq. display the audio has a clear tone to it. The display is easy to read even if your wearing sun glassed. As for power output? VHF 23watts , UHF 18watts was the max output. Once you download the Anytone software for programming your set to go. As of now doesn’t work with CHIRP.
