I have had 100% success with this cleaver, although it is very inexpensive compared to the traditional tools. Maybe I just got lucky and got a good one (other reviewers say it can be hit or miss), but no problems so far. Very easy to use. Seems to be pretty good quality mostly-metal construction as well. I have used it on both single and multimode fiber. You place the fiber in to the desired length, close the small magnetic latch to hold the fiber in place, then close the lid. Push the cleave button which slides the inner blade across the fiber, you hear a small click. The cleaved end is now separate and held by another rubber strip; you just grab it when opening the lid. No need to snap or flick the fiber to break it; the cleaver seems to do it all in one step. If you're not wanting to spend $500 or more on a cleaver, I'd definitely give this one a go.

I’ve purchased several of these fiber cleavers, and my experience has been mixed. When they work well, they’re fantastic—clean cuts, easy to use, and a great value for the price. However, not all of them perform consistently. Some cleavers I’ve received seem to dull quickly or don’t align as precisely, which impacts the quality of the fiber cut and adds extra time to my work.For anyone purchasing, just be aware that quality may vary. I still find it useful overall, but the inconsistency can be frustrating. I’d give it 3.5 stars—good when it works, but not always dependable.

On my second one very comfortable to use when 30 feet up on a ladder. The cleaver cuts great no adjustments needed. Was able to put the fiber cleaver to work from day one. Very pleased with the product makes terminating fiber ends a breeze. Good cut every time even after over 100 fiber installs still cuts great. Will definitely order another actually I’ll do that as soon as possible. For the price works just as good as the very expensive fiber cleaver.

Very easy to use across multiple sizes of fiber. Smooth cleaving action and it cones with a case!!!!!! Solid product!

I cut fiber as a daily job, the last one I used from this supplier worked for a long time, I just bought this one and stopped working in the middle of my job after 5 days, leaving me at the mercy of my old cutter which I’m glad I kept just in case. The lid won’t properly push the fiber down far enough to cleave it or the cleaving wheel somehow lowered. I tried adjusting, but there’s no adjustment for blade height. Doesn’t matter if I try cleave at 10.5 or 12.5. Won’t cut. Returning and going with a different manufacturer that’s more consistent.

These cleavers are hit and miss - had one that was a rock star, another that was basically spare parts and DOA on arrival, another that would work 90% of the time and now another rock star!Purchasing on Amazon cost a little more but you can return the ones that don't perform well. Ebay you have to send it back to China which if defective, you lose what you possibly could have saved.Quite a bargain when you get one that cleaves clean - would recommend these to anyone.
