Follow directions

Follow directions. I read other users feed back too. Used all the tips including shaking for 15 minutes, clearing the pickup tube with the clean out nozzle, cleaning the spray nozzle using inverted can pressure. Repeated all step every coat. Shook can continuous between coats. Had no problems. Finish came out very nice. I like the product.

Easy to use

I suck at painting and thought i messed up by spraying too thick and getting runs. When it dried in 15 minutes it looked perfect, as if I powder coated it instead. Good stuff so far. No idea on durability yet

BUY DIRECT - POTENTIALLY BAD CANS

I did two paint jobs on the same day, one with a can of Dark Parkerize ordered directly from Brownells and this can of semi gloss black ordered from eGoods365. Frame and Slide. They got the same pre treatment and prep. Slide and accessory parts got the semi gloss. Right from the start I could tell there was something off with the semi gloss. First spray and a glob of yellowish liquid came out. After that it was spraying ok, though heavy/wet compared to how the other sprayed. I ended up with a small amount of over spray on an area I knew I would have to sand down later. Baked all parts for 3.5 hours at 190* to quick cure. When I let it cool and started to work on the thick spots it was immediately clear this semi gloss black did not cure or could not cure. Came right off with 800grit wet sanding. Lots of spaces could be scraped off with fingernail. This was on a media blasted slide, degreased and soaked in acetone prior to paint. other parts that had a factory parkerizing, didn't take the paint either.Spoke with Brownells and they raised the issue that this could be a bad or old can. with the3.5hr bake they should be rock hard (and on my authentic can from Brownells, that paint is very hard). No finger nail soft. Buyer beware.

Worth the money

I wish I knew about this paint awhile ago. This is an actual durable paint that matches your black firearm. Follow the directions and you'll be more than satisfied. Used it on an aftermarket slide stop for a CZ Shadow 2

Perfect color match to Magpul Flat Dark Earth.

The can says Earth Brown. And the lids shows a brown. Whoever called this brown must be color blind. This is an exact match to my Magpul for a Mossberg Flat dark Earth forend. Very happy with thew color match and the results. Very nice finish and very durable.

It works, but...

I've used this stuff on a few guns, and when it works, it works great. This last time it worked perfect while I was at work on an 870. I gave it a few hours dry time, it felt dry, and foolishly I layed the receiver and barrel on my truck seat and drove home. It wasn't dry enough evidently and left a fabric mark in the paint. So I wait 30 days for it to cure, hit it with some fine sandpaper, and shoot it again. The paint had clogged the can up. In frustration, a few days later I try it again, and the can worked. I was just finishing up and got a splatter, 30 days wait time again before sanding out. This time I put regular camo paint over the top of it. The base coat is Aluma-Hyde, which is very durable, and that is where I left it at. Some of this was my fault, so no complaints, and I'd do it again as this stuff is good.

Prep Work and patience

Do your prep work to the T. I sanded mine down and then wheel brushed it to get it to bare metal. And cleaned and soaked it.Shake the can 15 mins and then apply a light but nice coat. I dried my on 200 degrees for 3 hours in oven and then let cool and apply good second coat and put back in oven for another 3 hours and then let it sit over night.I used the coyote color which gives you a matte desert tan finish. I applied a clear coat to seal it and brightened it up better.
