Tiny perfect potatoes
These teeny tiny Belgian new potatoes are pure magic. You have never seen tiny potatoes like these. At first you might think - what will I do with all these potatoes from this giant can (you get two) and then once you cook with them you will think - what can I NOT do with these potatoes. I use them for every possible potato dish - in quiche, in potaoes bravas, scalloped potatoes, for tapas, potato salad, potatoes Parisienne - you will buy a potato cookbook just to think of more ways to have these exquisite potatoes. They are cooked but don;t let it frighten you - they can take a quick browning in a pan, be run under the broiler, be sauced and baked without going to mush. They make a perfect potato salad right out of the can - honestly the best you will ever have and so tiny and small (from grape/olive sized to walnut sized) that you use them as is, whole.I used my first two cans and bought a second set and plan on never being without them. They are special. They make other potatoes look ridiculous. Once you go tiny you will never go back. And honestly that's the first time I've ever said that about anything!

I use canned potato pretty often but mostly Del Monte brand
Absolute necessity for your pantry. I use canned potato pretty often but mostly Del Monte brand. This was the first time I used this particular canned potatoes but what a nice surprise. After I tried these potatoes I would never go back to Del Monte! These potatos really are miniature and they are very good and so versatile. Also, they don't have that obnoxious smell of some preservative the Del Monte has.I have them as they are, just warmed with a dish at dinner and at breakfast with my fried egg and sausage I slice a couple of potatoes and pop them in the frying pan along with the egg and sausage. Possibilities are endless! Whatever you do don't forget to add garlic and fresh dill. Any time you can whip a dinner is 15 minutes. I will definitely buy again.

Meh.
The taste is just ok.I found them almost impossible to brown in a pan. There was no other option as I was camping. I'm sticking with DelMonte.

These Are Actually Good
Canned potatoes sounds like a bad idea. In this case, it is not. These are not just good, they are delicious. We live in a remote area where all produce is flown in, so we figure it does not affect our sky-high carbon footprint any worse that these are from Belgium. It is good to know they are from Europe, where there are standards, and not China, where there are not. Anyway, we drained these as directed on the package, and mixed them with seasonings in a dutch oven, and stuck them in the oven. They were delicious. They have been left on our subscribe and save.

DO NOT MICROWAVE! DO NOT AIR FRY!
FIRST THINGS FIRST - The rim on these cans is extremely thick and cannot be opened by any standard side-cutting can opener.SECONDLY AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - The surface of these potatoes is so smooth that they will form a seal which does not permit steam to escape during the cooking process. They explode in my 1200W Microwave. They Explode in my Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 Air Fryer. I suppose they'll be fine for regular stove-top stews and boiling and mashing. But for delightful fried morsels? FORGET IT!
