This will change your practice
This book is extraordinary. It showed not just what young children should know, but how to get them there sequentially and playfully and how to check for understanding while you’re doing it. I’ve changed my understanding of what children can know and my capabilities to teach those.

Great information for any early grade teacher and also great for parents of preschoolers.
I use this book for pre-service teachers - it is so insightful and easy to read. I wish I could find one like this for science.

Highly recommended this book to anyone who works with young children -- parents and teachers and caregivers. A very easy read with lots of real-life examples and a glimpse into effective classrooms where not only excellent math instruction is taking place but effective classroom management and teaching strategies are described as well.
