Works Well With My Aggressive Cat
The media could not be loaded. Well, my cat isn't all that aggressive -- she is a very loving older cat. But she HATES having her nails trimmed.I used to take her to the vet to have them trim her nails, and while that isn't all that expensive, it sure gets to be a hassle over time.I bought this a few years ago, but was too scared to try it out right away. Of course, the first time, my cat didn't know what to expect, so she went in willingly. Once the actual nail trimming started, she freaked out (like normal). But I got them all trimmed.I was worried the second time. Would she run away when she saw the bag come out? No, she didn't. I've found that what works best with me is to put the hood/muzzle on first. With that on, she seems a bit confused (doesn't run away or act out). Once the muzzle is on, she allows me to pick her up and place her atop the opened bag. Again, she doesn't freak out, but she puts up a very mild protest. Not enough to prevent me from getting her in.Once she's in, I fasten the velcro strap around her neck and then make sure her body is positioned correctly to allow me to zip up the main zipper (closing her up inside). After she is locked-up inside this little kitty bondage suit, I unzip one of the front paw zippers, taking out one paw at a time to trim her nails. This is when she goes berserk, trying with all her might to stop me. She tries hard to bite me, but the muzzle prevents that. She tries to claw me, but I only let one paw out at a time, and I have control over it.It isn't a fun experience, but it allows me to get the job done. And when the job is done, she is resentful for a short while (under an hour) and then back to her normal loving self.I've only used it about 5 or 6 times so far because she doesn't scratch the furniture (so I only trim her nails when/if she starts getting stuck in the carpet or other things). So in MY experience, it is very useful on a cat that hates having its nails trimmed. But all cats are different. I can imagine some cats might bolt once they see the restraint bag being taken out of the closet. Mine doesn't for whatever reason. And putting the muzzle on first seems to make a big difference. I can't imagine trying to get her inside without that...

For a chore that both the cat and I hate, this bag made it a positive experience for both of us.
I got my cat when he was a feral kitten. Though he is somewhat domesticated, there is still that feral part in him that still goes back to feral basic skills when he doesn't like something. He tries to get away by using his strength, writhing, scratching and biting. For example of what he is like: I tried to give him his first bath (did not have this product yet). How did it end up? He was washed and he was angry. I was soaked, scratched all over, and lots of blood coming from my cheek where he bit me. So I decided to purchase this grooming bag and was skeptical that it would work. Instead of starting off in a bath, I would put him in this and clip his nails for the first time myself. I don't know who was scared more, him or I. With a little work and chicken, I got him in the bag and got the mask on. Now for the product review. The bag kept him from scratching me. Yay! The mask was the icing on the cat. The mask fit perfectly and there was a lot of velcro so that it had more surface strength to keep it on the cat securely. It's a good quality mask. Now about the bag. I got the medium bag. My cat is 9lbs and is very long (17" from neck to butt) and tall legs (12" from paws to back). I tell you these measurements because trying to figure out what size to get for your cat can be difficult and this might help you get an idea on what to get. When my cat was in the bag, it wasn't like the bag was tight on him and he did have movement. He tried to writhe around, but realized it was useless and succumbed to sitting there meowing loudly. It was easy to get his front paws in and out. The back paws were a little more difficult and it is because he had a little room to pull his paw back in. The back part of the bag has 2 zippers where the paws should go through to clip. It also has a zipper to open up the back to expose his butt area (I will call this the butt zipper). Maybe because he is a long cat, but there was no way that I could get a paw through one of the zipper paw openings without breaking/bending his paw or scrunching his behind to an uncomfortable position in the bag. Trying to bend his leg backward to reach that opening looked like it would have broken his leg so I didn't try it. Instead, I just unzipped a little portion of the butt zipper on one side and put his leg through that opening. It worked and I got his nails trimmed, but he was able to jerk his paw which made it a little difficult. I put that paw back in and zipped that opening closed and zipped the other side of the butt zipper and clipped that nail. Next time I will see if the actually back paw opening will work now that I have gone through successfully this time. I didn't take a picture of him in the bag because I wanted to make his first experience short and positive. Maybe I will upload a new picture next time. So the medium did not fit snugly, but still worked. If I had gotten the small, I think it might be too tight and I know it would definitively be too hard to get his back legs through the paw opening if it was a small. I hope this review helps to figure out what size to get, but I absolutely would recommend this bag. I clipped my feral cat's nails and I was not scratched once or bitten. For a chore that both the cat and I hate, this bag made it a positive experience.

Not soft but works great!
Same fabric as a stiff reusable shopping bag from Walmart. Maybe it will soften up with time, but, I was put off by the lack of softness. Went on super easy, and short of a few quiet "meows, no arguments or fights. Didn't even complain much beyond some mild paw-pulling when I was clipping her nails. Very docile. I think we will have her wear it a few more times before the Ultimate Test....BATHTIME!I will update...

Not as advertised
Second try leaving a review for this product. It falsely advertises that it’s sold with a free muzzle which is the only reason i purchased this product over others. No muzzle was received and Amazon help says they can’t do anything and there is no contact information included with the bag.I did try to use the bag and I’m sure it would have gone much better with a muzzle. I adopted a very malnourished feral cat that has gone through all sorts of misery and needed a way to bathe him and do his nails that’s safe for both of us. Without the muzzle this product is pointless and I would suggest buying this elsewhere unless you don’t need the muzzle. I’m not the only recent reviewer to have this experience with this product. It’s also difficult to put on with only one person if you have a cat that is terrified. It didn’t stay on properly but I made it work as best I could. I ordered a medium and my poor little guy only weighs 7 lbs and is all bones. A medium was a very tight fit. The material is like a gym bag plastic but will be easy to clean and dry if needed. I don’t anticipate being able to bathe my cat in this since I don’t have a muzzle and I’m afraid of trying without it.

First time trimming cat's nails by myself!
My cat was born with a deformity to her front arms/paws, so they've always been especially sensitive and very difficult to trim her nails. I wanted an alternative to drugging her with Gabapentin and wrangling with the groomer. This bag and the accompanying blindfold/muzzle were definitely designed for feisty felines! Worked great! Less traumatic than any other method I've tried! I also gave her calming treats before and after the trim. For reference, my cat is 8.5 pounds and I purchased the medium size bag. Sure wish I'd bought this sooner!

Well made and works great for clipping nails
We tried this hood because we own a very large and extremely aggressive Siberian cat. It was always a struggle (took 2 people) to clip his nails or basically do anything with him including a simple brushing. Using this hood (I don’t call it a muzzle because it really isn’t) calm’s him down and he can be easily handled by one person and reduces the aggression and stress that would normally happen. There is absolutely nothing cruel about this device in fact it is just the opposite. There’s a lot of cats that only let you do things to them on their terms and this device in no way hurts them at all.

Brilliant Aid
My cat remained calm and unfazed by the muzzle which was easy to fit. I was able to clip his claws quickly without any apprehension on my part. I wish I had found one of these years ago...Happy Cat and Owner.

Funktioniert gut als alternative zur Blutabnahme unter Narkose
Hat bei meiner Katze sehr gut funktioniert. Aber ich glaub, das man bei grösseren Katzenrassen eine größere Tasche benötigt.
