Excellent Choice

Ive used this for oil changes in my detailing business and have been so impressed, I've had others that were trash but this one is strong, sturdy, easy to use and designed for the work it's putting in. I've used others that were slow but this one is fast made changing oil a breeze. Thank you, great product, highly recommend.

Must have for any automotive shop or technician.

If you work on cars as a hobby or on a professional level this is a must have items. Works great for bleeding brakes and extracting fluids as well.

I didnt have to raise the car BUT

I bought this because I really hate getting under my car on hot days(Subaru WRX 2018). I will, but I really dislike it unless it's on a platform. Let's talk about construction: extremely sturdy. Very well made. Didnt have any drip, suction, or leak issues in the least. And pouring old oil from the container into the empty oil jug was super easy. Next we'll talk functionality: as stated all you do is push the tube into the dip stick and it sucks up oil from the pan and so on. I drove the car for about 20 mins before deciding to change the oil and the hot oil came out exceptionally quick. HOWEVER: I do feel as though I didnt get all of the oil out. I would say maybe 5% or less was still in the oil pan. But it was 108 degrees out and I wasnt about to burn my back to drip the rest out. I tried a little more until i basically wasnt sucking anything out. I guess that's the best anyone can really do. Checked the dip stick and it wasnt even a detectable amount in there. Then I changed out the oil filter and filled it up. I go to check the dip stick and it was supremely over! I figured maybe if I let the car sit for a bit the oil could settle; i came back soon and it still was a little high. So i took it back out and sucked a little out to try to get it as close as I could. Luckily that too is easy since you dont need to get under the car. In the hot sun, the oil finally settled and read a normal amount (kinda). I'll probably check it again tomorrow to see if it needs to be drained a little more. In short this is a really nice tool if you dont want to get under the car, but it does have some draw backs. If you feel like you should have a more complete drain then dont use this product; if you feel like you can get away with leaving 2-5% of old oil in there mixing with your new oil then this is a fine product.

Quality extractor

Do t cheap out with one of the off brands. The OEM brand is the real deal and quality made. The instruction or not helpful at all but there are plenty of YouTube videos that are helpful. A pancake air compressor is enough to use the pneumatic feature. You don’t need it opened up all the way and it does fine with 125psi. I got the manual/pneumatic model just yo be safe but could have gone air only and been fine.

Works - with an N of 1

Really feels like a quality product. I have a Promaster 3500 which has a top accessible filter housing and with this makes oil change a breeze. I have only used it once and will probably not use it on our Toyota since filter is only accessible under the vehicle.Directions are terrible. And yt vids are not great for set up but it is intuitive. All connections are friction based and held in by the suction generated. There are 2 end hoses included, I only used the dip stick hose and I knew the depth to the oil pan from other videos about the van. You attach the thin dip stick hose (or the other for other fluids) to the wire reinforced tube (made in Japan, not China) which connects to the top of the evacuator. This was the only tricky part since there is a screw-on collar there. That stays screwed on when you evacuate the oil. The cap is later unscrewed/removed so you can empty the oil without making a mess. You turn the Venturi valve 90 degrees if you are hand pumping (you can also use a compressor but the manual mode worked so well I wouldn't bother). I heated the engine oil to 150 F (temp via OBD scan gauge) Got everything ready to go and pumped about 8 times and out came the oil. Pumped a few more times during process but only a few. Emptied the 6 quarts (right to the top of 1.5 gallon capacity) in under 10 minutes; didn't time it and may have been as few as 6-7.Easy to empty back into the 5 quart and 1 quart oil containers (with a funnel and with stabilized containers) at the end but did subsequently leave it inverted to let the last cooled down oil drip out later, as I did with the hoses. Hoses are the hardest to deal with emptying. Very little mess and the only oil I had to really clean were drips from the hoses and, ironically, a little spillage adding the new oil. Still used some cardboard and was glad due to the few drips.

I hate this thing

I bought one of these months ago to change my oil. I did it once, and sent it back because I thought it was defective. I got a replacement and I went to change my oil today and it did the same thing as the one I sent back. I can't for the life of me get a good connection/seal from the main hose to the reservoir. The nut that's on there doesn't hold it. It just keeps falling off (and making messes). I got one good vacuum seal today for about 20 seconds. It was beautiful, but it didn't last. The rest of the time I had to hold the connection together and pump my arms off. The thing for a compressor was closed and the pressure release valve was plugged. If someone wants to tell me I'm doing something wrong I can only say that the instructions should have been better in that case. The whole thing ends up a mess and hard to clean, and there are no measurements on the reservoir. I'm pretty sure that I left at least a quart of oil in there today. I couldn't do any more. Waste of money.
