Excellent, As Always!
I just finished installing this FD1436B radio trim kit in my wife’s 2012 Ford Explorer. It took me about 15 minutes because of having to change over the climate controls to the new trim kit. The installation was super easy, 4 x 7mm screws and 4 x T-20 screws. The reason I did this is because I upgraded her Head Unit to a new ATOTO s8 Ultra unit and discovered that I had about a 1/8” gap on each side, so it didn’t look factory. Before changing the Head Unit, there was a Soundstream VR-63XB with a 6.2” screen in a Scosche 6493 trim kit and it fit perfectly.I have noticed that there are a number of negative reviews of the Scosche FD1436, and in reading the reviews, it was immediately apparent that those customers either expected something different or had no idea what they were doing. People complained about their radio not attaching to the trim panel, but that’s why the car manufacturer put mounting holes in the dash. Granted, the holes for mounting the climate control could be slightly larger; however, it already has self-drilling screws. A little tight, but they do go in without cracking the plastic.Back to my installation: Before ordering, I measured the outside of the bezel on the Head Unit and checked the opening size on the product page and found them to be exactly the same. Once installed I made a very slight adjustment from right to left and everything fit perfectly. There is a slight color variation, but after all, we’re talking about an 11 year old car with some sun fade.Given the difference in the model numbers for the Scosche Dash Trim kits, if you’re considering installing an aftermarket head unit, you should double check sizes so that you order the right one for your vehicle and radio. Just those little things will eliminate headaches in the future.I am very happy with the way everything fit, and now my wife’s dash looks factory. The photos show (1) the old trim kit, (2) New Trim Kit Installed, (3) Alignment w/factory trim and (4) Fitment with Head Unit. As you can see, there are no gaps and everything lines up just like it came from the factory.I would recommend this kit for anyone looking to upgrade to an aftermarket stereo.

Worked as expected

Perfect fit. Good color matching. 2008 Ford Escape.
Pretty easy install. I used the included brackets because the ones that came with the stereo didn't work. I had to trim the brackets, but they work well and are plenty sturdy. This and the new stereo made the old Escape feel new again.

Color looks great but will need some mods to fit perfect
The silver is pretty close to my Mercury Mariner 2008 ...for the most part it was an easy install and i can see how some of the reviews can be upsetting but with common sense you will figure it out ... if you have a heavy double deck , I can be little worried for the bracket has no support in the rear ... I installed a Kenwood DMX7706S.Modification I had to do :1. The holes on top of the kit are a little small for the factory screws , had to drill it a little bigger (RED CIRCLES)2. The bevel can be much higher and you may need to raise your after market radio up In depth using washers or outlet spacers. Which I did to make flush3. The kit comes with a small mounting bracket that screws directly on the frame of vehicle , depending on your radio You have to adjust you radio depth sliding it a few times with the screws where it looks best for you .. then you mount the kit cover over radio onto the vehicle ....***you do not screw the radio directly to the kit cover (yellow holes )***For the price and finished look I couldn’t be happier

Stereo mount
Hey, it's cheap but it fits. My only issue is, it doesn't mount the same as the stock. You mount the stereo to the back of the stick plate, then slide it all in. This one you have to figure a way to mount the stereo in the dash, and how to get it at the right depth to slip this plate over it. It's not tragic, but it's difficult on the curved dash. And more importantly there is no instruction that states you do not mount it to the plate like the stock oneOther than that it does what's it should

Garbage. Buy the Metra instead.
Where to start... There's so much wrong with this! The hole is the wrong size, it's wider than the standard double din touch screen leaving gaps on both sides. The opening also bevels outward leaving a gap in depth as well as the width gap. There's a big ugly blem from the mold right in the bottom edge of the opening for the faceplate. The radio doesn't mount to the dash bezel like stock, you must mount it to the dash frame and take many times of trial and error to align it. The mounting hardware isn't included either. This bezel does not have any vibration clips like stock. I decided not to even attempt to use this one, I bought the Metra kit and it has none of the problems I listed. I did use the Scoshe steering control module and it was a bargain and works, but this... They should be ashamed of this junk!

Just right
Bought this for my wife’s car so we could add a stereo with a backup camera, and was just what we needed.

Hard to work with but really the only cheap option.
This thing sucked to work with, doesn't fit a 2009 escape very well. I had to make mounting brackets for the radio because none of the supplied ones lined up to any holes. Also it scratches very easy. I fumbled a screw driver and now there is a lovely scratch across it. Buy it cause its the only really cheap option. Otherwise avoid it. The color is also slightly the wrong shade of silver.

Radio doesn't fit
Standard size double din doesn't fit in the hole. The hole needs to be enlarged but I'm worried it will not look clean if modifed. The hardware included is too small for the existing holes and provides no support. Very disappointed as this was late arriving and now I can't finish the radio install as expected. Kit needs work!

Doesn't work with double din radios
I would rate less if I could, brackets don't have a way to attach to the panel so the radio won't fit.
