Ambient Interior Light Mod – Let There Be Light…StripsI own a pre-LCI 335i. Truth be told, I didn’t even know that I had any ambient lights hidden within the cabin doors until I came upon various YouTube videos that talk about this product. The BMW lighting engineers must have completely underestimated (by a factor of 1000) the level of luminescence required to trigger the ambient “cool factor”. The pre-LCI’s ambient lights are just incredibly dim (which is why I had never even noticed that the car had them).When I saw the YouTube video, I literally ran out to my car, turned on accessory mode and the parking lights, and then had to look (per the video) to verify that there was indeed lighting there. Whadyaknow? That was a complete surprise to me. I then knew immediately what I had to do. And, I am now excited to be a member of the Ambient Light Mod Club.Some quick thoughts (beyond the opinions of that vlogger):1. The lighting effect seems consistent from one end of the strip to the other (the various YouTube videos don’t really convey that). I was concerned that lighting along the plastic strip would be uneven, but the look is clean.2. Because the ambient lights are dim to begin with, these strips can only amplify the light so much. You’ll probably say, “hey, that’s cool.” But, you won’t say, “WOW!”3. Among the plethora of interior mods you can perform, this one (considering the low cost / easy 10-minute install / visual appeal) provides good value for the impact.4. In the daytime, these aftermarket strips are pretty unnoticeable. I measured barely 2 millimeters of plastic that shows itself and I doubt that even the most discerning owner would even notice.Hey, what a simple and elegant upgrade! This enhancement is not only inexpensive but universally lauded by those who have invested in it. And I too now am a fan. Mod On!

Let me start by saying I never leave reviews (awful I know) but I had to for this one!! I just bought my BMW and there are SO many upgrades and mods, but few (if any) are inexpensive, able to be done yourself, and won't damage the interior/exterior if you either mess up or decide you no longer want them. These were SO simple to install. It took a few seconds to figure out which way the correct direction, but once you figure it out they take about 1 minute/door. I will be honest and say that I was hoping for the best, but expectations were low due to the simplicity of install and pieces. I am floored!!!! I installed these outside (because I needed more light, & I wanted to be sure the strips were not visible during the day), so of course I could not see how well they worked, but the minute I pulled into the garage and turned out the lights - the change is EPIC!!!! It honestly looks like I actually installed new LED ambient lighting. These fit seamlessly under the door's trim, are lit evenly and without any "dead" or dim spots. Also just in case you are wondering, this does come with four strips, so the rear doors match the front. If you are on the fence, pull the trigger!

Based on the other reviews, I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. That being said, this was a Prime purchase so I felt secure in giving it a try. I found the product to be of a high quality, and was easy to install (I searched YouTube for instructions). I do agree that it is expensive given that ultimately it is 4 simple strips of plastic, however the results are well worth the cost, so I am 100% happy with the value. The result is a very clean OEM look worthy of a BMW. I highly recommend it.

These definitely give the ambient lighting a newer feel with the diffused strip, looks very good over stock. That being said yes you are paying over $60 for some plastic strips once you get past that and appreciate the new look it gives the interior you wont feel so bad. Easy to install just slide flat edge behind the lighting trim and you are good to go. Comes with back and front sizes, hardly noticeable when lighting is off.

I do not recommend. I purchased two pairs for two of our cars and planned to purchase a third set. I’m glad I didn’t. They are just plastic trim pieces that are supposed to “project” the light out and make it more visible. You couldn’t even see the light coming out. I have tinted windows as well, so I expected it to be completely visible. Even at night, I had to Cup my hands over the source to see the glow. I even feel that the product makes the ambient lighting less visible.The pictures must be updated, as they are clearly edited to show more light than can actually be seen.

The media could not be loaded. Install takes 5 mins or less on my 2018 BMW 340I M sport, which may or may not have brighter lights then a base or older models. I will need to trim to make flush.. which sorta sucks cause I don’t want to mess it up. I haven’t cut anything yet and decided to install and post videos and pics of what it looks like. I’m leaving 5 stars! 10/10 product! I do like it and I would recommend. If you’re looking for more of an ambient line, going across the door card rather than light shining down then this is it. Small difference but noticeable. If product not in stock then wait for it to come back into stock, I know I’m happy I did. Thanks seller I now have the ambient lighting I was looking for at an affordable cost.

Contrary to a lot of other people pictures, mine isn’t very bright. It looks cool don’t get me wrong but it definitely looks to be brighter on a lot of other peoples vehicles. I’m not sure why this is. I have my ambient lighting brightness turned all the way up, not only in the cars menu (2014 BMW 335i M-sport) but also using BIMERCODE. It still isn’t very bright. Again the style looks great and is decent in the pitch black night, but just isn’t that bright. Installing is super easy however can be a little disorienting, really should have some sort of instructions with the product. For value... $60 for four plastic strips that costs probably $1.10 to create is kinda ridiculous. I get it, supply and demand, and capitalism but I mean jeez.Still, A solid product that I would buy again if I had to.
