DC 12v 24v to 5v Step Down Converter Regulator 5A 25W Power Adapter Reducer for Car Electronics Truck Vehicle Boat Solar System (Accept DC 8-40V Inputs)

Excellent product for driving USB devices on boats where 12v is available. This is very useful and small for marine applications.

I could of made one on my own but this was just more cost effective as the time and materials to build it was way more than the cost of the device. I'm using it to reduce my cars 12V circuit down to 5v for some controllers I'm using on my engine and needed a stable 5V source so far this has met my expectations and is rated at much more current than I need to run the small monitor circuits I'm running on my car.

I use these to power 5v sending units on engines. Since they are 12 or 24v to 5v no need for multiple units since they will work in 12 or 24 volt engine systems. I use these with a fuse to the factory engine wiring to provide a steady 5v power supply to 5v pressure sending units to get oil, water, and air pressure readings to digital screens.

It outputs 5v with no load, but voltage sags to ~4.6v even at just 50% (2.5A) load, which shuts down my electronics. So not even close to useable.

Used in 1970 car for dash guage voltages. Forked fine

5.1v on the output. Does get a little warm, but not nearly enough to melt the plastic housing. I bought it for the thin housing and doesn’t have big cooling fins for tight spaces. Only time will tell for durability

Step down rated for 5 Volts 25 watts - voltage was down to 4.6 volts under 14 watt load. Trying to power a raspberry pi it gives under-voltage warnings and caused USB accessories to malfunction.

Good devise. As advertised. I’m using it to convert a 12 volt power supply output to 5 volts for a powered usb hub. The hub then powers and drives a stepper motor controller. The voltages and polarities are clearly marked on the case. I checked them with a volt meter and all looks correct. So far so good. I’m happy with the purchase. Thanks folks.

Tested out very good attached to a battery and it outputs a nice clean 5v dc.

The voltage converter in my 1968 mustang was fried and this worked like a charm. It doesn't provide a pulsed voltage like the original, but a steady one which is fine by me. Prompt delivery.

I am using this to power a Raspberry Pi 3 SBC inside a DYI project. initially I was planning to add filters and capacitor since I'm connecting this to the GPIO Pin, but this seems to output clean 5V and has internal capacitors. I will definitely buy more in the future.
