Does this product work well for making magnetic putty for older kids' projects? Thank you :-)

That's exactly what I used it for. Just to be clear.... It does not turn the putty into a magnet, it becomes magnetic. So magnets will stick to it but magnetic things will not. You have to use A LOT of the powder but it's pretty cool.

Will this work for making ferrofluid?

Possibly, but you would be better off using micronised synthetic magnetite. We stock this material, but it is not yet part of our Amazon catalog.

What was used to make this magnetite? oleic acid? wondering what type of solvent to use for my ferrofluid and i need to know to choose a solvent.
