In my opinion, no experience in cross stitch is needed, only patience. With kids and a full time job this took me over a year to complete. I agree with a previous comment and kind of wish I had stitched the gloves red rather than green.I changed up the top part of the stocking from the original design. I have done two other dimensions stocking and compared to those, the name on this original design was SO small, so I changed it to make the name larger along with the colors.

Bought 2. For added family members

This was one of the hardest socks I worked on, but it's beautiful, and I am so happy with how it turned out :)....Be warned it takes a long time :p. I used a different material for the backing, I put in a lining, and out lined it with the gold cording, so that doesn't all come with the stock, but it's not hard to do. Because of the colors being so close together; it was hard sometimes to see and follow, but it made the detail just so much nicer. I probably would not recommend this as a first stocking; it could prove highly frustrating at times.

High quality materials and very detailed design. This is a tedious project but so very worth it.

This is a beautiful pattern with stunning detail. The pattern and instructions are easy to follow. It's been awhile since I've purchased a cross stitch kit, so perhaps things have changed. The embroidery floss organization provided is unusable. The floss is attached to the ID card with double stick tape, which not only leaves a residue on the floss, but also makes it impossible to reattach unused floss back on the card. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. I recommend this pattern, just be prepared to spend some time organizing the floss on your own organizer.

I love Demensions craft kits! They include everything you need and directions are complete as well. However, I changed the color of Santa sleigh and his gloves to shades of red.

My wife made this with no trouble. It came out great!

A challenging kit, as Dimensions Gold kits usually are, had to learn a couple new backstitch techniques, and didn't totally incorporate the metallic thread because its the bane of my life, but I think it turned out gorgeous none the less. Took approx 2 1/2 months from start to finish stitching on average 2 hours daily. Seeing it complete is making me excited to do another one! I recommend this stocking kit if you like a challenge.

This stocking is absolutely beautiful. I managed to get it on sale for $29 CAD. I previously made a very simple stocking and thought I'd tackle something more difficult. I had the image reversed by my brother-in-law to match the first one I made. Every single square of this stocking had a stitch in it. I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. I had plenty of floss left over. I didn't use the felt provided in the kit to sew the stocking together as it is pretty cheap and after all the hours of work put in to it, finishing it off with the cheap felt wouldn't do it justice. A friend sewed the final stocking together using some taffeta and gold cording. Was exactly what I had envisioned. Love it.
