How high is this? I have a door clearance of 2.5 inches. Thanks.

My doors have clearance 1.5 inches and they fit perfect. But I think that this product is made for clearances up to 2" from the floor.

will this work on a smooth garage floor to hold a spring-loaded screen door?

If the floor is extremely smooth, the stop will probably slide, especially if the spring on the door is strong. You might want to purchase a stop that inserts into the door hinge. Amazon has those also.

Will this stay in place if it’s on carpet, holding a door open?

We purchased it for use on linoleum, where it works great holding open heavy doors. It's heavy construction and doesn't slip on linoleum, so I would imagine it would work great on carpet.

Will this keep a bedroom door closed?

it should keep a bedroom closed as we use this item to keep a heavy commercial door open. We had to get this size because the normal size was not tall enough to keep the door open.
