Solid Quality, Sufficient Instructions
It didn't take too long to piece together and install, around an hour or so with two people. The digital instructions were nice. After around 15,000 miles, nothing has come loose. I put the Smittybuilt Gen 2 on it and it fit great. Very happy with this product.

Long Review: 2021 Tacoma, 3rd Gen, Short-bed. TRD Off-Road.
1) Price. Very good compared to other bed racks out there. You can easily spend twice this amount for one from a different company.2) Shipping. Shipped from New Jersey via FEDEX and arrived a lot sooner than Amazon’s estimated delivery date. Happy for that.3) Packaging. The bed rack was packed extremely well in one big box. Weight on the shipping label said 87 pounds. All the contents were individually wrapped. The hardware bag: Ugh! All hardware components were in a single bag. Took about 10 annoying minutes to separate each component and count for accuracy against the parts listing.4) Assembly. Took me about 3 hours to assemble and install by myself. Due to the fact I was installing solo, I could not follow the instructions to a ‘t’. In essence, I kind of had to work backwards. Took a few minutes reading the instructions to find my bearing but I agree with other reviewers that with simple mechanical know-how, you too can complete this install by yourself.I had to install the towers first. I initially wanted to center this rack in the truck bed. NOTE: If you have a short bed Tacoma, you cannot do this. The length (front to back, fully assembled) of this rack will use every inch of your factory installed bed rails and therefore will sit more towards the front of the bed than the back. Honestly, I’m now personally glad it does. It gives you enough room towards the back of your bed. I had to take out all four bed rail clips (2 front, 2 rear) in order to get this fully installed. When installing my last bed rail bracket, I noticed that one of the welded bed rail bracket nuts had a large silver burr (see pic) and would not allow me to install the mounting bolt. I don’t have a full blown machine shop or a tap & dye set so I could not correct this discrepancy. I contacted Hooke Road through Amazon and they are shipping me a new one, free of charge. Awesome! Unfortunately, they stated individual parts are shipped from overseas and will take a bit of time to arrive. Nevertheless, I’m grateful for their great customer service concerning my issue. Look over your bed rail brackets prior to sending them through your bed rail channel to prevent what I just mentioned. It wasn’t until after I couldn’t get the bed rail mount bolt to catch that I noticed this issue. I even messed up one bolt’s thread (see pic). Then I installed the longitudinal, top bars. Then the side bars. Once all installed I went through and tightened everything up. Done! All in all, I’m extremely satisfied with this bed rack! This thing is BEEFY and built like a brick s**t house! It definitely adds a tough, rugged look to your truck. I plan on, eventually, mounting a roof top tent, awning, and solar shower.Great product, great customer service. Would 10/10 recommend.

Overall pretty satisfied
Even with a 5 foot bed this rack fit really nicely. But I do have a couple negatives. The first being that it would be nice if they would include an Allen wrench. Luckily I had one laying around that was the right size that’s no big issue though. However on the mounting brackets there was a clear area where there was supposed to be a cutout for the bolt to fit through. And I guess a machine must have failed in the manufacturing and it wasn’t caught. Now I can’t use that space to mount it. It still works with what I had though. And came with some nice mounting accessories for gear. It looks great and has a nice low profile for when I mount a rooftop tent so it won’t create wind drag. Overall it’s very sturdy and pretty straight forward to put together. If you put the first couple pieces together with the bolts loose then you can easily put it in the back and attach the third bracket. I’d recommend to not tighten anything too tight until after you’ve bolted it down.

Not too shabby
Hooke Road Overland 11.5” bed rack. I got to say, I picked this up with a serious doubt and hope for a risk vs reward scenario. I feel it paid off. This rack cost @$400 delivered from Amazon. The construction was sturdy, and even though the instructions were a little shooty, anyone with even minimal mechanical skills would be able to sort it out. I actually built it different than instructed, I didn’t have a 2nd person, so I installed the crossmembers on the bed first, loosely, and tightened upon completion. I am not at all dissatisfied with what I got and for the money. It even had several additional mounting brackets that were not specified in the purchase (water can, Jack, spare tire , a few stoppers and I believe spacers. There was one or two minor details I did not like, but again for $400 delivered. It’s awesome. The issues were, the funky instructions, one bracket was slightly tweaked (but for the most part corrected once everything was tightened, and lastly, if I wanted it more centered or set more to the rear of the bed, the last bedrail bracket would only alllow for one bolt instead of 2, unless you wanted to drill out a mounting hole in the bedOver all I think it was a steal

Pretty great
Price is great for what you get. It’s a self explanatory installation, and I disregarded the instructions once I got the basic idea from them. I received all required parts and nothing was damaged. This rack is stiff and doesn’t squeak or wiggle once installed. Seems great to me. I can sit and bounce on the top of it and I don’t feel it bending.

Best budget rack!
Budget rack and easy to use and install. I've had this on my truck for about 3 years and no complaints no rust, just sturdy and pretty rugged looking. The wind noise is noticeable, but I hardly even reconize it now that I've been on mutiple trails and adventures. The hottest deserts, high mountains, and urban enviorment this rack been places. I would recommend to get some bed stiffeners helps with the weight of the rack and keeps your bed from getting cracked.

Not the best
Unfortunately does not fit my Tacoma properly. Many of the bolts are wrong size and the panels don’t line up flush with the edge of my bed. Which for my use became rather important. The mounting points are very awkwardly placed so they are the most useful. Also the lining is slightly scratched from shipping which was a non issue but now it’s starting to rust at those points. I did place a return but the return cost is too pricey so I’m kind of stuck with it.
