This is perfect. Why didn't I get this sooner? I'm off grid and run two Victon inverters. Inverter 1 (l1) keeps getting overload warnings due to my Goulds 1/2hp jet pump surging. We pump water from our well to an orchard in addition to our house. Its taxing on our system and power bank. This thing works great. I did open the box and adjust the switches. No more surge! No more overload alarms on my Victron system! When you are off grid and fully reliant on your solar, this is a must.

We have a solar powered home and I purchased this to prevent surges from dimming the lights. I use it on my power tools and they start on a lower speed and ramp up, preventing the surge. Works Great!

I have a 1 HP shallow well pump attached to a sandpoint well at my hunting shack. If the pump sits idle for a few days, the initial surge needed to start the pump was too much for may 3000 watt peak battery generator. The solution to this was to pull out our 5000w generator, which is possible but not easy.I've had the torque tamer installed since August (it's mid-November now), and I have not tripped any breakers - the pump starts every time, more slowly.I have not had any reliability issues over the past four months, time will tell.

I purchased the Torque Tamer GS10 Soft Starter for my miter saw. It worked as advertised but be aware if there is a LED light on the tool the soft start will not operate. My miter saw has a LED blade cut light that can be turned on and off, if the light is on the soft state does not work. It reverts back to the high impact rapid start. In addition with the light on it makes a clicking noise, I am not sure if it will damage the soft start.

I think it is very important to let you know that this unit WORKS !!! I am using it connected to a15amp water pump and works perfectly. I am using it configured as it came from factory, in other words, with the 2 second delay. The peaks when the water pumps starts, on the phase it is connected, have reduced significantly, not 100%. How am I measuring those peaks? simple: I have UPS devices connected to the same phase. Before installing this device every time the pump started the UPSs woke up and protected the connected devices. Now the pump starts and the number of times the UPSs wake up has been reduced.

I really wanted this product to work. I gave it a fair trial. But the description says it should handle a 15 amp table saw and it does not. At least not my 15 amp table saw.

Just what I needed for my jet pump. The pump's motor starts softly then continues to ramp up until it reaches maximum RPMs. No more trip breakers. No more HARD and FAST starts! This will definitely prolong the motor's life a few more years.
