Husband loves these boots. NO ZIPPER!! If you want a great boot without the zipper on the inside of the boot, this one is for you. Great lower leather that can be shined, and lightweight top that holds your foot and ankle secure. Waterproof and comfortable.

Danner boots, these boots are comfortable and light weight, easy on, easy off, nice boots!

I wear a 15 1/2 and the size 16 that I bought fits Perfectly and I am happy.

I bought a pair of 13-D boots 2 years ago and immediately was unhappy.1- When putting the boot on, there was no structure to the upper part of the boot. It's basically leather and water-resistant mesh. The bottom of the boot kept flopping around as I tried to pull them on.2- There isn't a pull tab or loop to help you pull the boot onto your foot. As I pulled it onto my second foot, I heard and audible short 'RRRP' and thought I tore something. It seems that I didn't do any damage but it scared me about my new boots.3- They were snug. Very snug. Not to the point that they hurt, but were a bit uncomfortable.4- They were quite light, to the point that I worried about their durability.I had previously been buying Magnum boots in the $80-110 price range and these were $150+. I thought about returning them but decided to try them for a few days. And I am glad I did.They broke in within a week or two and ended up being the most comfortable boots I have had in a long, long time.The bottom of the boot upper (not the tread) is durable leather about an inch high. Anything hitting the side of the boot will hit leather. The rear going up to the top of the boot also has a leather strip, from the ankle upwards, giving a bit of protection from something hitting your foot from behind. The rest seems like mesh, but does not let in water if you quickly remove your foot after going into a good sized puddle.I will wear anything from a 12.5 wide to a 13 to a 13 wide, depending on what kind of shoe / boot / sneaker I am getting and how the manufacturer sizes them. For winter wear I would often get a wide to handle thicker socks.After a year and a half the tread wore down to the point where I needed new boots. I decided to get a pair of Magnum Stealth Force 6" waterproof boots. I bought these in the past and remembered liking them. When I got them they felt like bricks. Very heavy compared to the Danner 8" boots, and though I did get a wide, they seemed a bit loose around the toe. I wasn't thrilled, especially since they wore unevenly after about 6 months. I decided to get another pair of Danner 13-D boots.And the two year newer Danners hurt like h@@@. They squeezed my toes to the point that my toes bunched up and I got blisters. I had to wrap sports tape around my toes to wear them I hoped they would break in and widen a bit but no-go after a month. Athletic socks I wore with these started getting holes on the side of the toe from the friction of the tight boot. I ended up returning them and getting the same boots but now in a 13-2E wide.I just put on the 13 2E wide and they feel snug. Not too snug. Just a bit uncomfortable. Just like the 13 D boots I got two years ago. So did my feet get a bit bigger? Or did manufacturing change a bit since I bought these before? I dunno.BTW, I'm wearing the same athletic socks I normally do, since these are actually pretty good in winter temps going down to freezing. I often wear thermals below 30F but haven't had problems with my feet being cold unless I stand in a snowdrift for a while.

Very very lite weight. I have narrow feet and put my insert in them. They feel great. I'm a sheriff deputy and on my feet 9 hours a day at courthouse on cement floor. I have the Ft Lewis Danners and they are night and day difference. Feet don't hurt at end of day in these. And can run in these easily. Can make them lace up tight on my ankles for support. Very well made as Danners are known for.

Boots are very light and comfortable…. Nice speed lacing system.

I have a pair of Danner hunting boots that I have had for over 40 years and they are still in good shape. How many companies can make that claim? That said, I was still concerned that these boots would work for me. Well, I am happy to say that those concerns were unfounded...the Danner quality prevails.First, just in case someone has the same issues as me I would like to mention my reason for selecting these boots. I had a surgery on my foot a few years back and afterward I developed a DVT (blood clot) in my right leg. It moved and I ended up with a pulmonary embolism and well...I almost died. What saved me was the fact that I ride bicycle...hard and fast, so my lungs were in good shape. Still, I needed treatment for the blood clot as my leg was swelling really bad....like an elephants foot. An interventional radiologist did perform a procedure to try and relive the swelling and although it helped I still have a lot of swelling in my right foot.So....I needed a boot that would give me room for that swelling but still lace up enough to fit mt left foot. I also still ride bicycle daily and wanted a boot that was waterproof. I also needed a boot that would look good enough for work. Well the Tachyon 8" GTX fit the bill. First, I wear a size 12 and 12D's fit perfectly, leaving me plenty of room for my toes. They are incredibly light too, which for mountain bike riding is great. The soles stick to my pedals without slipping even when wet. I can lace up the boots for both of my feet...even the swollen one, and the fit is great. They are easy to get on and off thanks to the nylon upper as it allows my socked feet to just slid right in. With leather boots the the leather uppers grab my socks pulling them backward against my toes. They are very cool boots too, so if you have hot feet these are great.I did have one problem which is the seam on the back of the uppers. It rubs the back of my foot, but I think that it will even out as a callus forms on my heel. I always have found taller lace up boots to be hard to get the right level of tightness and in my case now, the problem is even worse. I would always have to loosen the laces or tighten them. So what I did was buy some elastic cord and made a pair of laces for these boots, similar to what Keens sandals do. That works great as the stretch in the laces allows the boots to remain in a comfortable level of snugness.Good boots...no...great boots.

Really wanted to like them but they tore up my feet and had no arch support
