This review is for "Alternative Latex Foam" 2 Inch Mattress Topper. I felt I needed to improve the mattress in our new RV as the foam mattress although fairly comfortable could benefit from the addition of a softer more body contouring topper. I've tried several memory foam mattress toppers in the past, and all of them had the same issue. After a few minutes you are sleeping in a hole that you cannot get out of. All of them ended up in the trash. I don't care what they say. Sleeping in a hole is not comfortable. And the way they advertise memory foam toppers you don't know what you are getting until after you buy it. By chance prior to my purchasing a topper, I spent the night at my son's house and the bed was extremely comfortable. No back ache in the morning and a blissful night's sleep. I had to know what mattress was on this bed. Come to find out it was only the addition of this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper to a cheap mattress that made the bed so comfortable. So, I immediately purchased one for the RV. I can only comment on my experience. This mattress topper is totally different. It provides superior total full body support over and above what you receive from memory foam. Equally the same support you would receive from a full latex mattress topper at less than 1/4 of the cost. I can only describe the comfort and body contouring support you receive from this topper as nothing less than outstanding. Unlike a memory foam mattress when you lie on this mattress topper your body heat does not affect the support quality of the topper. When you move the mattress topper instantly returns back to its original shape allowing you to move as you wish without any restrictions to your movement. You get full total body contouring support no matter how you sleep. In my opinion this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper provides every bit the comfort I get from a $700 Latex Mattress Topper that I have is on our home bed. So far, I have only tested the two-inch topper because I have it on a fairly comfortable foam mattress. On a regular bed the 3 inch may be a better choice. And if you are over 200 lbs. like me. The 3-inch thickness might provide a better level of support. I have found that the topper can sleep warm so a breathable thick mattress pad will remove much of the heat if you are a warm sleeper. I highly recommend this Alternative Foam Topper over a memory foam topper.

Ordered on 2/4 arrived on 2/11 so not the fastest shipping. Exactly as pictured after unboxing it was fully unsquished in 2 hours and ready to use. Feels just as comfy as the other one we had that was twice the price. We ordered king size and it fits our king bed perfectly.

Super cushy padding but it’s very hot to sleep on and I am sure this was supposed to be a cooling mattress pad. Does take a bit to fill back in, but it is very cushy. It’s a bit stinky at first, only issue is it makes you much hotter when you sleep and it was advertised as a “cooling pad” for a relaxed sleep, it is not.

Great quality, it is very comfortable to sleep on. We put it in our camper, cut it to size and it made for the best sleep!!

The Goldilocks of mattress toppers. Purchased a memory foam mattress topper and it was far too soft. Latex is a perfect alternative. Provides softness but also support my hips and back needed.

BUYER BEWARE! This phrase is in the online description for this mattress topper "offering a plush surface for your bed". The latex topper that I purchased is not plush. It is very firm. In fact, it says right on the box that it is "firm". The word "firm" does not appears in the online description. Also, and this is very important, Amazon says that it has free returns but the catch is that you have to box it up to take to the return location. It takes a box the size of a small refrigerator to ship this pad once it has been opened. It is like trying to wrestle an alligator to stuff this thing into a box. Forget the original box, it would not hold even 1/4 of the expanded mattress.

It is soft and comfortable. It only keeps me cool for about five minutes.

Bonne densité. En espérant que ce sera aussi un produit durable car le confort est super pour les gens qui recherchent du moelleux. Prenez le 3 pouces et non pas le plus mince. Seul bémol: l’odeur toxique des premiers jours et aussi il n’est pas pour les gens qui aiment la fraîcheur car c’est peu aéré.

I have bought it to put over a camping inflatable mattress. Both to protect the mattress and to provide some breatability. I have used my mouth to suck air through it and some air can pass. July is hot and PVC inflatable mattress will get you damp with your own sweat if you do not add something. We were drier with this one in july than we were with another one in colder september. Good memory foam mattress topper.

Aaand...UPDATE #3: An older family member with leg/back problems tried this topper with his med-firm foam mattress. The pain that kept him awake when lying in bed was relieved immediately, for full nights of sleep now. Different strokes for different folks! UPDATE #2: OK, the winds have changed ... this topper has become a fairly useful addition with a med-firm foam mattress. Legs and arms appreciate the additional softness. The topper was not useful previously with a hybrid( pocket-coil and foam), and an inner-springs mattress. This novel can now conclude! UPDATE #1: No real change from original opinion. - When tried on a regular firm spring mattress the result was pretty much the same firm feel, as the topper compressed under both the body-weights tried (150-185lb). No significant softening effect. When the load was concentrated by sitting up in bed the topper really had no effect at all. - On a hybrid foam and pocket-springs mattress, which had a depression after a few years' use, it seemed to improve the feel slightly, if not the actual depression. - Minor offf-gassing odour after a few days, none after a week. THOUGHTS: I wonder if a better bet might be the type of topper that has the firmer foam base-layer under the softer foam top layer? Or not... Overall, I suspect that if you need a new mattress, you need a new mattress. ORIGINAL REVIEW: PROS: As the size in the regular listing was out of stock, I bought this through Amazon warehouse deals at a nice discount. It arrived opened from the original packing, as was stated at purchase, but it was well rolled in two layers of protection and in a suitable box for transit. It was clean and unmarked. The size is correct for the mattress. Odour is present, but it is not as remarkably pungent as some reviewers have noted. There is a recommended 72hrs airing to dissipate. CONS: The product is unexpectedly soft. Very, very soft. Perhaps I am not sufficiently familiar with these toppers, but I expected more density in the material from the item description for what is, essentially, a soft layer of foam which compresses readily to nothing. (I'm happy to ignore the advertised 'cooling' aspect of any of these products - I don't believe in the Tooth Fairy, either...) In fairness, I will let it air out for a few days, try it on a bed, and update this review. I really want this to work. Two stars - for the discount and the meticulous warehouse presentation.
