I tried to replay an old ring. It did absolutely nothing. I bought this ring a couple of years ago from a local artist. She told me it was nickel when I bought it. Over time it started to get black and dingy. I tried to clean it with toothpaste like I've done for my silver, which only made it turn a brass color. I thought I ruined it and could never wear it again. That bummed me out since I really love this ring. I decided to hang on to it in case I was ever able to make it nice again.When I saw the reviews for this product, I knew it was worth a shot since it couldn't possibly get worse. My goodness! LOL Half way through working on my champagne bucket, I received a phone call, and I ended up removing my gloves to take the call. Two days later and my fingertips are still tinted charcoal gray despite me repeatedly washing them! The bottle specifically notes it, but I was so excited to finish that I did not grab another pair of gloves to finish it and I ultimately paid the price for it! lolNow moving onto the results of this product….Simply put: I was AMAZED by it! My cleaning lady used the wrong product to polish my champagne bucket and she ultimately damaged it. I contemplated throwing it away, but I ended up purchasing this silver plating solution as a last resort. I am not going to deny that during my first application, I was not convinced. I put some of the solution on a small hand towel, rubbed it onto the champagne bucket, and nothing happened. No difference. I decided to shake the bottle really well, changed the hand towel to a microfiber towel, and I poured a small amount of the solution right onto the bucket instead of onto the towel. I allowed the solution to sit on the bucket for a few seconds (it turned black as part of the plating process), and then I proceeded to buff the solution off. What a game changer that was! I was impressed by the results!!! There were times that I had to repeat the same process more than once on some areas, but at the end, the results were there! In some areas, I did not even have to put any solution on the bucket as the microfiber towel was saturated enough and all I had to do was wipe the area for an instant result. Within 10 minutes, my champagne bucket went from being ruined to a shiny silver plated polish all over again! I cannot emphasize it enough: buy this product!
