I'm using this to grow algae, and it's working great. I prefer this model since it has an adjustable knob, so I can dial the amount of light in better.

I want to start seeds for my greenhouse and was initially worried if it would be bright enough. It is incredibly powerful so I can lift it higher and cover a greater area. (It would be great if the description said, you can cover an area of ___ft x ___ for seedlings, or flowering plants, etc.) But seriously, wear sunglasses. It's very bright. Something to know....the switch is a dimmer one so you can adjust the power any way you like. I heard someone mention about noise. It seems quiet to me. I will contact customer service, but there is one problem with MY unit. The cord plugs into the unit but does not stay in much of the time. I've tried using tape to hold it at different angles. I will contact service...I don't know if I need a new cord or if it can be adjusted or if the whole thing needs to be replaced. I hope the problem is just with this one unit. If I exchange it and still have a problem, I will have to look if I can hardwire the thing. I'm happy with my decision and I'm sure it will be taken care of. I'll update.

Build quality and packaging is okay but the light is extremely underpowered. Misleading listing. Says it is a "600w" light, then states it can replace a 300w light. Only to be followed by "only draws 136watts". I attached this light to a killawatt device and was surprised to see that it barely pulled 100w from the wall. Do your research and look for a better light for your money than this one

Excellent light dim-able is great for different stages. Great for growing cannabis in no bigger than a 2x2 tent
