I buy a digital copy of this every year as it’s better value than the Norton subscription directly. The activation code is easy to use, received quickly and works with PC (unsure on compatibility with Mac). It has all the basic features required for standard virus protection.

I had this on my old computer ...but l could not stop AUTORERNEW And have been charged on renewal date the full amount. Tired to get a refund BUT THEY JUST GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND WITH NO WEAR TO GET A REFUND

Amazon was fine. The cost markedly undercut Norton - by some £10 - and delivery was - by email - instant. First rate. Congratulations. Thanks. My complaints concern Norton. Again not the product which I am sure is effective. How would I know? The technicalities are beyond me; but the same - '360' - product seems to have worked well in the past and I have had no 'invasions' or, at least, my computer has not been paralysed since I have used '360'. My complaints are three: Installation: - rejection of the code - luckily I took the advice of a reviewer, 'uninstalled' the old version, reinstalled the new version and it worked; but it was a confusing, cumbersome, operation and it would have been helpful to have had advice - clear and prominent - from Norton about this problem - better still if Norton would do something to overcome the problem altogether? Start date - I could not be sure when the new version would start and I am not paying for an overlap (of old and new versions) so I had to wait till the old one ran out - risky - and, once again, Norton should make it clear when new the start date applies and, if early, they ought to credit the overlapping days (as they apparently do if one buys directly from them) Automatic renewal - it can be stopped - and should be to prevent the higher charge from Norton and to allow time for 'shopping around' etc. The procedure (to stop automatic renewal) exists but one has to remember to activate it and the procedure is yet another 'challenge' for technophobes Andrew Thomson Winchester 14 3 2020

Impossible to install, waste of money

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of this sort of thing. I needed something to work as a VPN, and it seemed to do its job okay, but there was a constant bombardment of ads trying to upsell to better packages and to offer more protection. All I wanted was a VPN. I didn't want antivirus, I didn't want firewalls, and I didn't even have that turned on. Yet it insisted on blocking certain files that I was downloading. I know what I'm doing with this sort of thing, as I'm a casual developer, and I found it incredibly frustrating, even more so when it came to renew and it wanted about three times the cost of what I paid for this. Needless to say, I've cancelled the renewal, and I won't be using this again. I suppose if you are a bit of a novice when it comes to internet-related matters, then this is probably okay for you, as it will stop you from downloading anything that will harm your PC, but it's just very annoying.

Best and cheapest alternative of buying expensive directly from the Norton website.

I bought this as it was half the price of the automatic renewal cost that Norton charge. I prepared for this by removing the bank details they insist on to activate auto-renewal a few weeks before it would activate my existing auto renewal. Interestingly this alone reduced the renew cost I was being quoted from about £84 to £30. Once I activated this paid for version there was a certain lack of clarity about whether coverage was active and it needs some digging in My Norton to make sure its up and running (see under "subscriptions") . But it seems to be there and seems to be active. I had expected a lot more in the way of barriers and manufactured difficulties but it was not that bad. You still need to sign up for auto-renewal so beware.
