A Room of Ones Own
I enjoyed this book very muchThe book “Square Haunting” by Francesca Wade, compliments “The Equivalents” It includes biographies of women in similar circumstances going back to Jane Ellen Harrison 1850-1928.

This is a story of how women became empowered from the 1950's on.
I liked the author's approach. I, too, was an academic in the 60's (still am) and lived a lot of the not-so -subtle discrimination women faced back then. And now as well. It's a story worth telling over and over again.

Given to a dear friend and self-described renegade of the time! She loved it - and now her daughter cannot wait to read it 👍👍
