very nice recess light replacement
Bought these to replace a couple dimmed recess light around the house. These lights arrive quickly and are quite well built, each with a junction box and pre-stripped lead wires as well as connectors if you don't have some already from previous installations. My old lights had cups behind the LED, and since they were above the attic without top access, I just took off the screw and poked them up to make space. The junction box fits easily into the original hole, and I like the design with two spring ears on the light, easy to install as well as to take off in case you need to adjust the light temperature like I did. So far it's been working like a charm, very steady and bright and looks better than the garbage installed by the builder. I plan to replace all ceiling light with these in a couple of weeks.

Surprising quality!
I've installed a lot of lighting like this, so I'm definitely not new to the product nor the procedure. I've got to say that I'm a bit impressed with the quality of these -- they're comparable to what you might buy at the big-box home improvement chains in every way, but at a fraction of the cost. They were packaged very well, and not a single problem with any of them -- no crumpled gaskets, no twisted wires, no bent housings, no missing or broken parts. The installation experience was identical for each one, no troubles at all.More importantly, their performance is outstanding. The light throw is very thorough and even with absolutely no hot spots or shadows. And I am a bit impressed with their light output -- they're BRIGHT! And what I mean by that is they make more than enough light for their size, so it won't take many to evenly light a given space or room. The only complaint I have is on the diameter. They're Ø6.7", and they recommend cutting a 6.25" hole, leaving less than 1/4" of a lip for the light to hold onto. That leaves virtually no room for error, so if you plan to cut the hole by hand, be very, very, VERY careful that you undercut (and use a utility knife with a fresh blade rather than a keyhole saw). If you use a hole saw, the ones designed for 6" recessed lighting are usually 6-3/8", so you're in dangerous waters if you use one of those. In any case for drywall, if you somehow crumble or tear the edge of your hole, it WILL be visible when the light is installed.I used an adjustable hole saw (a Klein 53710), which could be adjusted in 1/4" increments, so I was able to cut the recommend size hole without any error, but it took a little effort to line up the light in the hole to make sure there were no visible gaps.Overall, this is an excellent buy. i can't speak on the longevity, of course, but given the overall quality and performance, I expect that these will last for many years.

Excellent value, easy to install regardless of available space above your ceiling
These are lightweight, self-contained units that connect easily to existing wiring. I have used them to replace a number of ceiling-mounted lights. The very slim profile allows them to fit into drywall regardless of the space above, even if the former box was attached to a joist. As long as you have enough space to get the wiring housing into the space above the ceiling, these work beautifully. The light is also adjustable; I typically choose around 4000K for a nice clean "natural" light. Because these fit flush to the ceiling but don't "recess," the light also spreads much better than recessed can lights that often create a "cone" of light and resulting darker spots in a room. Steps are easy: (1) Cut power to the light; (2) remove the existing light fixture; (3) remove the gang box or other mounting (in some cases you can simply push it to the side) and prepare the wiring for the new light; (4) cut a 6" round hole for the new light; (5) attach the existing wiring into the housing for the new light (push fittings are very nice) and set this housing/box in the void above the ceiling; (6) use the spring clips to set the new light securely into the round hole. Even the most challenging installation took me only about 20 minutes in all.

Great first impression
Installed with no issues. Not sure why houses like to come with no lights in the ceiling. Why does everyone like it so dark. I like to see. Like the different setting options for brightness on the junction box. We chose led but you can choose the yellow tinted if that’s what you like. Lights are dimmable. Looks nice and sleek. Don’t have to worry about the studs which is nice when cutting your holes the can slide right in because of how slim. Not sure on lifespan yet as we just installed them hopefully they will last a long time. Based on initial set would recommend.

Great lights, easy install, great customer service
***Update***Within hours of writing my review I was contacted by the company to address the problem. I'm satisfied with the resolution and do feel that the seller stands behind their product. I would order from them again in the future.***Original Review***I've installed around 10 of these lights over the past year.Recently, one started blinking, and then stopped working altogether.Thinking it was the light, I tried to switch it out with one I hadn't installed yet, but that didn't work and so I figured it had to be the junction box. After switching out the junction box (with one from the same set that I hadn't yet installed), the light worked fine.I opened the nonfunctioning junction box to see what had been going on, and it appears there'd been a short and that it had burned the board.I don't know whether this could have caused a fire - perhaps the company uses fire resistant materials and this actually worked as intended. I probably won't uninstall any of the others that I've already installed unless this happens again - but I don't know that I'd install any more in new locations. So in sum - the seem well constructed, are easy to install, and look great, but there's a potential risk for a short on the board.
