I'm just burning up the last of the role of this filament that I purchased a couple weeks ago. I'm using it to make a bunch of HAM radio parts for a HAMfest where I'll be a vendor. I'm very happy how this is printing, even on my Bambu A1. I just let the bed preheat at 100°C for about five minutes before printing so the bed temp had stabilized and was sure to print each item in its entirety rather than by layer to minimize any model warping due to shrinkage.I did try a sample of a couple small primitive's printing by layer and they did shrink and the print failed. But again, being able to print by object and have it work is fantastic. I'm also not printing large items, they're all under 20cm in height. I'm sure this stuff really prints well in a printer that it's designed for, but the label does say "Enclosed printing chamber is required...when printing big parts with ABS filament." So, if your parts are smaller like mine were, you're likely good as well. I did crack a window in my shop as it does have a bit of a smell but not bad at all.

I'm new to 3D pen fun. I have a specific tool that I need but can't find anything like it anywhere so I got the hairbrained idea to make one myself with a 3D pen.Without knowing how much filament I'd need, I embarked on my prototype with just the filament that came with the pen, not knowing how much it would take. I chose blue since there were several, though different shades, but it was just a prototype, so it was okay. It took me five minutes to realize I was going to needA LOT more. I ordered this.It came quickly and I went back to my project as the 4th shade of blue.It goes on nicely, as did the others. I turned up the heat because as with all the colors I tried, It comes out looking stringy and not smooth. I wanted it to melt into a smooth texture, but never did. Once I got the basic outline of my tool made, I decided to see what would happen if I used a heat gun, hoping it would all melt and smooth out.The other shades of blue did. The heat gun melted the filament on my tool so that it all smoothed out and looked like a solid piece, except this blue didn't. It still looks stringy. I tried using a plastic knife to smooth it like spreading butter, but it only stuck to the knife and pulled off of my tool, requiring me to go over it again.Bottom line: I love how big this spool is. I will have fun using it with no fear of running out while I perfect my tool which I'm sure will take a few more tries, but I do think it is going to work.Next experiment is to find a file and try to file off some of the rough edges that are created by the nature of using a 3D pen.One of these days, I may purchase a full sized 3D printer and see if that will make a smoother tool for my needs. (I'm a scuba diver. I'm trying to create a small spool that will sit inside the rolled up SMB).

The media could not be loaded. My X1Carbon arrived and this was the only plastic I got at the same time. Luckily, I bought 4 kg, because it's awesome.I've run it in "ludicrous mode" and it's fine. I've tweaked some settings, but it prints a good benchy with "generic abs" temp settings 270c hot end and 90c bed. I have a screenshot from the app with whatever settings it shows.Pros:Great bed adhesion, great layer adhesion, minimal shrinkage, clean finish when you use iron mode, strong, solid glow, good price, fast shipping, and durable.My neighbor pulled in with his 1 and 3 year olds and I have them some fidget cubes. They were throwing them on the driveway and jumping on them and nothing broke, but I told him to let me know when it does.Cons.Be careful of supports. This stuff is really extremely hard so tree and grid supports are way too hard to get off with the great layer adhesion.You need a longer carry distance between them so hopefully your printer can do something like a. 7.5 mm+ hollow support since that's been easyish to remove with minimal left on the part. You need pliers to remove them and it's not easy so be careful dudes and dudettes.Unknowns:Deformation temperature, long term glow, how fast it can really print, etc.I haven't printed much for sharp corners yet since it's always safety third. I also haven't acetone vapor smoothing yet, but I will and almost promise to update if it was bad.It does have quite a smell so I'm sure it's toxic and I would put it in the garage. I'm def going to seal my chamber better, but that's not a filament problem with the right ventilation.TLDR; see title. I gave all my printed things away so I only have inappropriate ones or idiot (me) decided to slice it very poorly 🥴
