BAXTON STUDIO Merrick Mid-Century Retro Modern 1 Drawer and Wood Cushioned Bench Shoe Rack Cabinet Organizer, Dark Brown

We bought a large pretty open virtual learning desk for our 9 year old and just put it together with this bench today. The bench is Very study and we liked that he can use it instead of a chair and that can be pushed underneath when not in use. Our son is a bit of a wiggler so we wanted him to be able to move around, sit cross-legged, lean, etc while he’s working and we think that the desk and this bench are a great combo. The storage u see the padded seat is great for books and binders and such, and we are using the pull out drawer on the end for pencils/markers/crayons etc. Super pleased with this purchased and know it is a piece I could then use elsewhere in our home after virtual school is done.

Absolutely love how sturdy and beautiful this piece is and it certainly does make an impact on the room. If your going for MCM this is it. However, 2 pieces were labeled out of probably 30+ pieces. Diagram directions are worse than ikea, it’s hard to distinguish some pieces from others and I did make a couple mistakes. Took me 2 hours by myself to assemble but….it’s done. Just take your time and be patient and you’ll be okay.

This bench is hard to assemble because the instructions are blurry and don't do a good job of indicating which side of a piece is which. However, the finished product is worth the difficulty. Really nice.

Outside of being difficult to assemble (we figured it out) I am not pleased with the overall craftmanship. I at least expect the veneer to lay flat. Look at this corner! its a hot mess and by the time you get it together after an hour, am I sending it back?? Probably not. Lesson learned. You may want to avoid this one.

Very cute but not great quality. The veneer is not the same color and grain throughout. Definitely stands out against the legs. The piece is very durable though it did take about an hour to put together and I definitely worked up a sweat during the process.

This is a good bench for the money, and doesn’t look cheap assembled. It’s surprisingly sturdy and wasn’t too bad to assemble as long as you are organized and follow the schematics. We assembled it in an hour and a half with no issues.I’m very happy with the purchase, might get another for the front hallway

I am so, so pleased with this bench. It looks just as good in person as it does online - the mid century- mod look is on point! Though I did not personally assemble it, I was told that it wasn't terribly complicated and took less than an hour. It has a really generous amount of storage, both under the seat and in the drawer, and it's actually pretty comfortable as an actual bench! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves mid-century mod furniture but doesn't want to spend an eff-ton of money.

Looks cheap and side panel panel started to peel after assembly.

We needed a storage bench that was long and narrow - this definitely does the trick! Looks great and works well.

Although I ordered this mid-January and I didn't get it until Feb 25, it was well worth the wait. The best I have seen for the price. I love it! It is handsome, sturdy, practical and exactly like the pictures. It took my husband and I, who are both seniors, a few hours of leisurely building. It was very confusing at first, because I had read all the reviews that said the parts are not labeled and so we laid out all the pieces and tried to figure out which was what - like putting a puzzle together. But then I discovered the parts ARE LABELLED - discretely in red on the unfinished edges - and after that is was very easy. Everything was aligned properly, screw holes in the right places, correct number of hardware pieces. However the instructions are not the greatest, and we found it best to do some of the steps in a different order to make it easier for us.

A perfect addition to our bedroom. We're using this piece as storage and seating at the foot of our bed.

Delivered a week after ordering. Took over 2 hours to assemble as instructions were not the best. Cushion leaves a crease when sat upon but can be flatten out and drawer sticks a bit. Overall, happy enough with the quality and love the look.

The instructions were TERRIBLE. Lucky that my husband and I are equipped and well known to make our IKEA furnitures. We didn't take 3-5 hours like other posted.. It took about less than an hour for us to make it. It's super sturdy. Love it otherwise.
