His first acting experience was in the video clip "I'm sorry" of Gummy, an artist signed under the same company (YG Entertainment). In 2007 he debuted as an actor in the K-drama "I am Sam". In 2009 he played the role of Vick, an assassin, in the K-drama "Iris". This K-drama was later turned in a movie for the Japanese audience (2011). In the acting field he is best known for his role in the movie "71: Into the fire"(2010). He won several awards for his performance. In 2013 he had the main role in the movie "Commitment"(also known as The Alumni).He played the role of a north Korean send to South Korea against protection for his sister.The movie became number one on the Korean box-office the day of its release.
