There's a definite difference between real silk fans and fake silk or other fabrics. I definitely feel the difference in how they flow. I love mine, and take it to park, or by the water. I've started taking it when we go out dancing, and using them at the club before it gets packed. And I LOVE the vibrant colors

sky over the sea by day, perfectly ghostly by night
I LOVE these fans. When you're flowing at a fest by day, the colours remind you of a bright sky over the ocean. The silk is quality and flows beautifully. Because of the colour gradients, they're still fun to flow with at night, too. You can still see them if there's even just a little light, and if you're at an outdoor venue, they'll catch the lights from the show like ghostly jellyfish.By the way, that's speaking from a totally sober fest experience.Only downside? The fans feel a little hard to hold open song after song with no breaks. They're bamboo so they don't splinter, but your hands start to ache from the awkwardness of holding them open. That being said, I'm new to silk fans, so maybe it'll just take me and my big rower hands some time to get used to holding them in the best possible way.

Nice flow
These are nice and floaty. I bought them for movement activities in my elementary music classroom. They're still too new and I'm afraid of my students destroying them, so I haven't had many students try them out yet, but because of the length, students tend to step on them. They're perfect when I'm the one using them.

Cool but fragile
These are very pretty and I love the gradient on the fabric, but be careful as the glue doesn’t hold very well and fabric tears apart from the actual fan bits.I got this for my friend’s Katara cosplay from Avatar and it worked great for a bit.
