Scuba Compass

Why I decided I needed a back up compass I'll never know - I don't cave dive and rarely night dive, but I say this so cheap I could not resist - surprisingly, its a nice little compass for the $$

I had bought the same compass in mid summer, and on my second dive, only down two 60 feet and it broke. Was not happy at all. I had to return to the surface just to find my way back to my starting point. Wasted Dive! I quess you get what you pay for. (Promate was good on the refund)

I liked the fact that it can be either worn or hooked to the gauges hose. The numbers are written with very thin font making it hard to read. In addition, the viewing window on the front is hard to use. The degrees are not seen easy which makes it unpractical to use. Amazon site should place more pictures of the product to make it easier for the customers to view what they are really getting. The material is good.. but its design is bad.

It's big. I am a big guy (6,2 220 lbs) This thing is bigger than I would have liked. I'm pretty sure I could wear it around my thigh. The dial and compass actually seem to work fine, so if you are in the market for a ginormous compass, this might be the one. Update 3/22, So I actually used it in the water. I still hate it as a wrist compass, but I used the included attachement to put it on my gauge hose, then the size is not a problem at all. So as a clip on gauge hose, it is great.

For my wedding anniversary, I purchased my husband scuba diving lessons. This compass watch is a perfect item to purchase for someone just starting out diving.

Spend the extra money and get a better quality compass. This one hesitates, gets stuck, and does not give an accurate reading at all. After diving with it twice it got a bubble in the liquid. Completely unreliable, and therefore, unusable.

Should be hold strictly horizontally. If you lean it - it changes measurement up to 40 degree. Amazon requested at least 20 words in review, but i do not know what to add. Obviously this device cannot be used either underwater or in a dingy in ruff sea.

I got this compass Saturday and have been testing and comparing it all weekend. It's pretty much dead on. I compared it with 2 different compass apps on my iPhone ande have been getting identical results. Will update when used underwater.
