Could be improved
Fan housing is sturdy and easy to mount. The fan is quiet but I could hear noise from the damper flap vibrating in the air flow, which is noisier than the fan. The grille has a poor design that I could see everything behind the grille from standing on the floor. My previous fan, which was also from Broan, had the grille slot openings facing sideways so I couldn't see anything inside the fan from the floor. The grille spring also kept coming off a couple of times.

Not as quiet as we wanted
We ordered this fan/light combo hoping for a bit more light in the bathroom and a quieter option for the fan. Our existing fan worked great but was loud. This fan is louder than our old one.We have had to buy multiple bulbs to find one that will work. No LED bulbs would work. After all the effort to get it working with the light we are giving it 3 stars. If the noise was actually quiet like advertised we would give it a 4.5 stars, only docking points because of th light bulb.

Very impressed
We got this and when we plugged it in, it was extremely quiet. I was thinking that maybe it would not function that well. I previously had one that was just as quiet in a bathroom half the size for this one and it could barely keep up with the steam if you turned it on at the beginning, if you waited then no hope of a clear mirror. With this one, the first time I used the shower, I forgot to turn it on right away and the mirror was already fogged up. Once I turned it on, by the time the shower was done, there was no fog on the mirror. With how quite it is, I thought it would not be that strong, I was wrong. I'm going to replace the other bathroom's exhaust fan with one of these as well.

Didn't have an led light
Fan was quiet and easy to install compared to other fans I have put in. I installed it as a replacement - not new construction. The removable plastic vent allowed me to hook up the flexible vent hose from inside the fan assembly. Just pull the vent hose through into the housing and connect to the vent. Then push the vent in place and tighten the set screw. This design allows the installer to cut the ceiling the same size as the fan housing. No extra drywall patching needed if your new fan is as big or bigger than the old fan. It would be a problem if you had to install a hard metal vent pipe sometimes required by code. I suppose it could be done but lining it all up would be a pain. The vent had the typical flapper to prevent backflow but it didn't function very well. Most of them don't. The light was not led. It didn't come with any bulb but had a socket for an A19 standard base bulb. I don't want to try to find and buy an overpriced led replacement bulb from the manufacturer so that was a factor in choosing this unit. Would like it if they had included the metal tabs on the side that bend down to support the fan against the ceiling drywall. Other Nutone products I have put in had these tabs but this one didn't.

Silent, easy, not much air flow
I have purchased three different bath fans for my house and this was by far the easiest bath fan to replace. It is not as "silent" as the much more expensive one I got for the master bath, and does not move as much air but it is still as close to silent as I think anyone would expect. Also, the design of the cover bulges out of the ceiling a bit making it a little too noticeable when you walk into the bathroom, if you know what I mean...The flap over the exhaust port that prevents air blowing back in, when installed, was always open. The flap even says which way is up, and in that position, it was always open. I tapped a bit of electrician's tape on the bottom of it, just enough to weight it down to closed when there was no air blowing.Had I purchased this fan two fans ago, all three would have been this one. Cheap(ish), QUIET, and does it's job. I dinged one star because of the design flaw of the flap, and they could have included a simple LED light bulb in the kit which I highly recommend.

Nice fan.
It was Easy to install, except the mounting holes are on the gyroc side and you can’t get to them. So this doesn’t make sense as to why they are located where they are.It had mentioned that it had a heating element in the ad, it did not. I did not need this so I’m glad it didn’t, maybe they were referring to a different model. The unit is quiet but I will see what time brings.
