Q: It's very hard to see the interior from the picture, what kind of interior pockets are there?

Hello Lesley, the bag has one zippered pocket which is about the same dimensions as the big zippered pocket on the outside. Opposite the zippered pocket are 2 open slots. one is big enough to hold a smart phone. Be advised, when I received mine it took 3 weeks for the smell to go mostly go away. Other than that its fine. Hope this helps

Q: Is the bag water repellant?

Because of the fabric it sheds water easily but not totally water repellent ~ you could probably use a water repellant fabric spray on it.

Q: What are the measurements on the front and side pockets?

Front pocket 5 by 5, side is different in width, length 5

Q: Is the red color like the picture, or more like brick red?

I'm sorry I don't know, I got the purple one and it is slightly darker than the picture. I will say that I have had this bag for 2 weeks and the chemical smell still hasn't gone away. I cannot use it as the smell is very unpleasant. Too bad because I really like the size and color of the bag.
