These are my new spice jars, and they are great!Quality:As others have said, the glass is high quality, clear and thick. The lid is glossy black plastic of decent quality (it doesn't feel brittle) with one of those waxy paper inserts that provides the seal. It can be closed somewhat tightly, so if you are thinking of using these for cosmetics, you should be safe traveling with thicker substances like waxes or creams, but traveling with an actual liquid in here would be a gamble. I love  Nalgene  travel containers to leak-proof my liquids. It will definitely be sufficient for keeping herbs, spices or an 1/8 of weed fresh for a few months.Size:I took a picture with a somewhat standard-sized spice jar. It's less than 1/2 as tall, and a little wider. External dimensions are 2-1/8" diameter and 2" height. It holds 2 oz. (i.e. 1/4 cup or 60mL) up to the lip below the threads, so if necessary, you could put a little more than 2 oz. in there.Packaging:Some reviews from early 2016 said that the jars arrived broken. I bought these in January, 2017, and they were double bubble-wrapped with care. It seems like Amazon has taken care of this problem. Nalgene

Great size and the lids fit very nicely.

I am about to reorder these as they work great! Sturdy and hold 2 oz of product. I make my own salves. If I whip the salves, then less fits in the bottle, but that is fine. I weigh the bottle on my digital scale before adding product so I can get pretty exact weight of contents.I don't like using tins for product as I am fairly certain most are aluminum and that is something I am avoiding for packaging. Love using glass!

I am a painter and was seeking new air-tight storage jars to keep my acrylics from drying out so quickly. I ordered two cases of these jars, and for my purposes these jars have been perfect! They are a nice small size and seem to seal well enough to keep my paint fresh for longer than the plastic jars I was using before. My only criticisms are that all of the black caps came very heavily scratched and scuffed along the outer border, and some caps -when screwed on- don’t sit perfectly in line with the glass base. For my paint storage purposes this is not an issue, but I imagine that if these were used to sell a handmade product, it could look bad. I expect to buy more as I need them.
