Check your Serial Numbers
I went on line and found the Quicksilver Water Pump Body Kit based on the year and make of my boat. I purchased this through Amazon. The one thing it didn't tell me was mid year Mercruiser changed the design and I have the newer version. I had to return the material and go to my local dealer to get the correct parts. There was nothing wrong with the kit I purchased. Note: Double check the engine serial number prior to ordering parts.

No aftermarket pump works better
Can not go wrong with OEM Merc parts. Just don’t use grease on the impeller, use (Glycerin) or prime with water on start up to get good service life. There is noWarranty they are considered a expendable product.

Mine was falling apart, glad I ordered this a year ago so I had a spare at home.

Flash at mould lines that would have destroyed the impeller
Paid a premium for a genuine mercruiser part so I didn't have to deal with low quality imports and guess what was in the QS box... low quality import parts. The housing had flash at every mould meeting line leaving sharp edges on the impeller mating surfaces that would have torn up the new impeller in a matter of minutes. Of course there were mould section registration problems too.Only took a few minutes with a pocket knife to smooth everything out, but I shouldn't have to rework parts from a reputable manufacturer. Glad I usually look over every part before installing.

Always pays to have a spare on the boat
Good quality raw water pump service kit for Mercruiser engine. I now carry a spare on the boat just for peace of mind.
