Q: Does this contain caffiene?

The Rani Chai Masala is just the chai spices, no tea at all. I put a black tea bag in my cup, add about ½ teaspoon of chai masala and pour boiling water over, add sweetener and milk. I love that I can make my tea as spicy as I like. Some days I like less spice, some days I like more spice. I don't put the chai masala in a tea strainer or anything, I just let it float around in the tea. But you could use a reusable cotton tea bag or something similar if you don't want chai spices floating in your tea. I have tried almost every kind of premixed chai I could find and nothing is better than a plain black tea bag with some chai masala, unless you buy gourmet imported spices and mix your own. I've done that too. It's good but labor intensive so the chai masala suits me fine.

Q: What are the ingredients?

Ingredients list reads: Cardamom seeds, green cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, black pepper, dry ginger, cinnamon, and anise seeds. I like this brand a lot and if you follow the traditional method on the label it makes a really nice pot of chai. (The printing on Rani's labels is TEEEENNNY, so have a magnifying glass or your cheater glasses handy!

I've found that the bottle seems to have the right ingredient list. This product is like the brand I had when living in East Africa that was made in Zanzibar. I hope you like it, too.
