These are little plastic sleeves that adapt the size of a AA battery to a C sized space. It works. The black plastic seems durable, but not especially substantial.I had a Duracell 1500 flashlight that finally was loosing power from the original set of supplied C cell 'not for separate sale' Duracells that came with. I believe it's almost the only thing that we still have that has C cell batteries... perhaps a clock or two. We do use AAs and AAAs. So this was a good answer for us. I believe most C and D batteries basically only have the small cells inside anyway, so you aren't really loosing capacity unless you go out of the way to find full internal C cells.Powers up, the flashlight which has modes and can get very bright, worked fine with AA Duracells in this application. Does what needed to be done. They're basically just little plastic things that hug the AA into the right place so they can function as C cells. Works well for that. ... and now I don't have to buy another odd size of batteries. ;o) ...Works

I rarely need C size batteries. When I do, it’s usually for something that I need to use a little bit, and don’t really want to buy batteries for. These adapters work well. I’m using some rechargeable AA batteries in them for the electronic globe for kids to learn. The AA batteries provide plenty of juice for this and I can quickly recharge the batteries if needed. The adapters are simple to use and a better price than others. For the cost of these, it’s the same as getting a 4 pack of C cells. I always have tons of AA in the drawer though, so I’m good to go now.Nice adapters, work great, recommend.

They work perfectly fine however for some batteries, Rechargeable in particular the fit is a bit snug. The expandable holders could have been made slightly wider, but it still does fit them. otherwise works as intended

Excellent alternative to having to buy any other size battery. AA batteries are much more user friendly and these adapters allow you to use AAs in all your older electronics that require D and C size batteries. I purchased adapters for both D and C size replacements.

The product works as specified. It will allow the use of AA batteries in a device designed for C batteries. The buyer needs to be aware of the similarities and differences between AA and C batteries. They are the same length and voltage. C batteries are larger in diameter and thus support more mAh. The adapter increases the effective diameter of the AA battery. An AA battery will only last about 25-33% of a C battery under the same conditions. AA batteries are less expensive than C batteries and easier to find in most stores. I use the adapters in candles that take C cells. Even though I have to replace them more often the lower cost of the AA batteries make it worth doing. In addition for flash lights that take C cells these adapters are great when you have run out of C cells and can use AAs in an emergency.

This adaptor is a very nice way to use a AA battery instead of a C battery in items that don't get used that much such as led flashlights. A C battery would probably take so long to discharge that it would likely fail, getting acid all over the flashlight, ruining it. Plus, the AA batteries seem to come up for sale much for frequently than a C battery. I bought a pack of 10 of these and only have 2 that are currently not in use.It is just a plastic sleeve that holds the AA in the proper position, but whoever came up with the idea had a good one!

These are a great idea and some of them worked well. However, they seem to have loose manufacturing tolerances. Only about half of them fit my rechargeable AA batteries, whereas the rest were too tight. I ended up making the tighter ones work by scraping off some of the excess plastic myself, as that still took less time than returning these and getting others. But I wish I had bought a different brand in the first place.
