Still functional. so we kept it but after a few weeks, note summer months so not cold or frosty, the plastic eyelet part on the line end broke, just ended up tying a knot in the line and use that to hold it on the hook.Another thing, don't use the supplied mounting screws. I loosened them to remove the unit, in order to put it in the shed to overwinter and both of them snapped the heads off, next spring i will have to ereposition when i put it back on the post

The Hampine washing line works very well and was easy to install.

We bought it because we thought it would be ideal for us. Locking mechanism is weak, the line length is great. We had to wrap the line twice and knot the line fir it work. Tge idea was to be able to retract it but we have to knot the line it stays at length. Needs tweaking.

hard to wrap line around the clip to tighten line, not an easy fix method especially for oder people or people with arthritis could do a better solution.

Purchased in August 2024, broke on 12th November 2024. Only used about once a week and not heavily laden ever. Washing ended up on the grass today. We bought this one as we had had one before which had lasted for several years. A great shame it broke as it is a really good and convenient product otherwise.

MyThe line gets caught in split in middle of casing ,if left it will split casing

Don’t know how it’s classed as heavy duty it’s no different than the cheaper versions. Cheap plastic not really up to the job - and The first time it was used the return spring failed.

Order two of these and returned both as faulty. The line will no pull out or retract and is tangled, knotted or trapped inside the reel. Very disappointing, one faulty item is one of those things, but two, both the same, will not be ordering another.
