I needed a cheap region free player.
I have a expensive S**y uhd 4k Blu-ray player, but the picture quality and performance is better on PANASONIC UB420P 4K UltraHD.Picture quality is more brighter and clearer on any formats,it really shows on 4k ultra hd movies and blu-rays.The picture quality is extremely good, and lots of tweaks to try out.The S**y lacks of power, its takes really long to power it up and sometimes it frases completely on long disks. The panasonic works like a charm,it survived all the way from United States to Finland in the box with no padding. The box was almost destroyed, but it works perfectly ! ! * * * * *It's the best player for its price in the world. Sorry for my bad english.(I took a picture every of a blu-ray anime)

Did not play my region B disc's then stopped working altogether. JUNK!!!
I bought this because I wanted a multi region player, I read reviews, some good some bad. Well mine is bad. First I could not get it to play my region B disc's, I read reviews of others saying it played their region disc's, I followed all of the instructions listed from several reviews but nothing workd. I gave up on my region disc and decided to watch a 4k movie. I put in the disc and it loaded up, the movie intro played but about 2 minutes in it stopped, went to No Signal screen. The player turned itself off the it took me forever to get it back on to get my disc out. When I pay almost $400 for something I expect it to work. Needless to say I am returning it and I know from reviews some people love theirs but I would not recommend this item.

Dream Come True - Saving All Those Euro Blu Rays paid off
So happy to finally own a region-free blu ray player, especially a 4K one! After upgrading to 4K a few years ago I swore the next time I got a player I'd go region free and bought as many Euro blu rays that interested me.Tested out a bunch of them immediately and was satisfied with the results - big thanks to 220-Electronics, works perfectly out of the box and no complaints! The most impressive quality is definitely the upscaling of BluRays and DVD to 4K, this Panasonic handles it extremely well and its impressive for sure.If anyone's still reading this review, I recommend checking out the Italian crime drama serires 'Gomorrah'. It's an excellent thriller show and I'm so happy to play the Blu Ray I bought back in High School.

Warning: Can't change remote control code from #1
The first unit was a dud because I couldn't change the remote control code from #1 to something else and the eject button didn't work. I called 220 electronics and they agreed that the unit was defective. The second replacement unit was delivered in two days from Amazon and worked but had the same problem with not being able to change the remote control number from #1. Apparently all 420K's have a remote control that is locked to the control code #1, even though the 420 has control numbers that go up to #6. After a bunch of fiddling around I was able to change the remote code using the remote control from an 820 (that looks exactly the same as the 420). This is important for those who use more than one Panasonic disc player in their home theater. Otherwise, the 420 P works fine in playing BR regions A, B,&C plus DVD's that have codes from #1 to #6. This unit replaced an LG 175 all Region BR player that worked but was clunky to use. One big advantage that the Panasonic players have is that they can play audio on BR's at 1.5X which is useful in listening to commentaries or other bonus features. The LG and Sony players do not allow changes to the remote control number and don't play audio at 1.5X.

Best Region Free 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player I ever had!
This is my first region free player, 2nd 4K Blu-ray player, and my first from Panasonic. I was finally able to play 2 of my Region B locked blu-rays I had for a while was very happy about it! They along with other standard Blu-rays & 4K Blu-rays I had tested on this player looked sharper and more upscaled on my 43" LG UHD OLED tv compared to my previous Region A player from Sony. This definitionally was worth the upgrade, wroth the price, and definitionally worth the wait! So overall, I love absolutely love it! Would recommend this if you looking for any region free player with highest performance with also 4K Blu-ray playback.

Zone B is a no
I thought most zones were numeric, either way, apparently this is not zone-free. Quite a disappointment. Plays my other in zone dvds fine so far.
