Adult ADHD: How to Succeed as a Hunter in a Farmer's World [Hartmann, Thom] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Adult ADHD: How to Succeed as a Hunter in a Farmer's World Review: Another theory - ADD is still full of unknowns. This theory MAY Prove incorrect. It is stull a useful tool of discovery Review: FABULOUS book. Showed me my strengths - Wow!! This book WOWed me so that I had to stop, catch my breath and walk around in the middle of the night. Breathtaking! The idea that I do NOT have a deficiency... that ADD is part of my biggest GIFT.... and ways to understand how my brain actually WORKS... is profound. I laughed in a lot of the parts when I saw myself reflected in my ability to measure time. LOL. I'm still laughing. And at the whirlwind on my desk (that is getting neater).... and walking into the kitchen noticing that the sink is nice and clean however that I left 2 drawers open and 5 cupboards... LOL. It's all okay. I am also devising ways to WORK with this amazing gift. I recommend this to ANYone who might have or know someone who has ADHD. PROFOUND work.

is probably a good book!
Short, which is probably a good thing. Mostly focused on entrepreneurship. Made it most of the way though, I plan to finish it some day. I guess the thing about having ADHD is that someti

Not So New
I've loved Thom Hartmann's books about ADHD, but the ones I've read are 15-20 years old. I was delighted to see that he had written a new one! Just to be sure it was really new, before ordering it I looked on Amazon's list of specifics about the book. Sure enough it said 2016. What I missed was that it was a third edition. When the book arrived, I saw that the title page states it was originally published in 1994, published under a new copyright in 2002, and now under a new copyright in 2016. Now that I have begun to read it, I'm finding that there is a small amount of new information about the DSM-V in the first chapter. As far as I can tell, the rest of the book is probably original. I don't see any references in the bibliography newer than the 1990's and some are from the 1970s and 1980s. This doesn't mean the information is not useful. It's just that I've read about his hunter/farmer theory elsewhere and thought I would be reading an updated presentation. I would appreciate it if Amazon would make it clear when a "new" book is really an old book in a new outer shell.

Good Ideas
I got this book at the suggestion of my therapist. I hope to put into use the good ideas and make them my every day goals.

A good book ... a hyperactive author?
It is a good book. Although it is said somewhere that Thom discovered the association between ADHD syndrome with the hunter skills, a bibliography list on this very book will be a clear idea that there were individuals who had written about the association. It is impossible to reach Mr. Hartmann via his email-Id. posted on his website for clarifications on some aspects of his discussions on his books, an issue which Mr. Hartmann should look into and amend, if possible.

I read this engaging and concise book in just 2 days. It was easy to hyperfocus on, and it exceeded my expectations. I bought it because I wanted to read one of Hartmann’s books on the concept that ADHD brains are, rather than being defective, suited for certain roles–like being hunters. I chose this one because it had the coolest cover. To my surprise it was exactly what I needed, with a lot of actionable tips on starting and running a business if you have ADHD traits. I didn’t realize it was going to be focussed on entrepreneurs. If you are one or want to become one, this will be relevant to you.

I do not understand why this book has soooo good reviews. Yes, it is not about children ADHD (and this is the only one pros), but the whole book is like it was a school project written by 13 years old. The only two interesting things: - Title: division on hunters and farmers. - Paragraph about family - setting goals for yourself with regard to your family instead of trying to set their goals. (Page 106) I do not regret buing this book only thanks to these two things.

Do you recognize yourself as one who is very good few things while easily missing on small things and get labeled as either careless, lazy, or worse, as stubborn? Then this book is for you. You would often come to reflections where your long standing mysteries are unfolded and unanswered questions are addressed.
