Throwing Some Shade
A good, solid piece of cast metalwork that will accept a parasol rod of all the popular sizes. Once the rod is placed in the socket, a small screw winder locks it in but only one caveat, because the rod socket on the base is more or less universal, you may need to wrap some pre cut plastic piping to place around the parasol rod so the stand rod isn't sitting at an angle. Regardless of that, weight of item, looks (scrollwork) and ease of use along with price make this an obvious choice, or it did for me.

As Parasol bases go this was a dream come true.
When I ordered this base for my table parasol it was to replace one I had gotten with my table set that had cracked. This looked like a similar design but was much cheaper than the ones I'd seen in shops. It came soon after my order and I'm pleased to day my life is now complete. The wife left me a few years ago due to my alcohol issues and I was feeling a bit meh, this has cheered me right up. Can just afford it during this Tory cost of living crisis.

Bought 2 - both broke during use!
Bought these as described as heavy duty. Bought two crank and tilt parasols - not a good idea, as you can see from the photos both literally disintegrated!The bolt and washer that hold the stem to the base are not fit for purpose- they need to be much bigger.Such a shame as they are nice looking bases but did not hold up to the weight of the parasols.If you are using them with very lightweight parasols they may be OK- or we obviously got a dodgy batch.If using crank and tilt parasols spend decent money on granite bases .
