Q: How does this sofa age? Does it end up looking really floppy and cheap after awhile? or does it stay looking good?

It does not lay flat, just the legs come up, the back does not recline flat.

Q: Can this be reconfigured without one of the consoles? I am trying to fit something like this in our fifth wheel

yes. these connect with hardware already attached to the bottom side of each unit.You can separate them or push them together as theatre seating. I did have an issue with one of the chairs. The company immediately responded and replaced the malfunctioning unit.Great Purchase!
