I almost didn’t buy this because so many people said you couldn’t see the print on the fabric, but I’m so glad I did. The print is very clear. The instructions are a bit difficult, but pretty easy to figure out if you’ve done one before.

There were a variety of stitches involved and it ended up looking great.

I'm not technically a beginner, but this is my first project since my 6th stroke, so I think I qualify. The instructions are a little difficult to follow for some stitches. Google the name of the stitches you're having trouble with (I highly recommend a site called The Spruce-it's a general lifestyle blog, recipes, arts & crafts, how-to articles & videos for just about anything) & if you still don't get it, choose a simpler stitch that you do understand.

The hoop is split in a couple spots and I’m not sure how it will hold up as the project is worked. Also since the crack make the curve of the circle uneven, it doesn’t hold the fabric tension consistently. I will probably use an old hoop I have from 30 years ago when things like this were made of quality material. So knocking off a star for that.But, the rest of the kit is nice. The fabric has an even weave and the design is printed clearly. It does come with floss nicely organized, basic instructions on specific stitches used and the picture points to the different pars and references the color number and stitch type.Other than the stitch/color guide, there are no instructions. You will want to go to the internet for more info on preparing your fabric, the best way to work a pattern, finishing and general instruction on embroidery if you are truly “starting” embroidery for the first time or gifting to someone who is. But hey, that’s why they invented YouTube.

This was my first embroidery project EVER, and I'm so happy with how it turned out! The materials and outline provided were great, but I did have to google certain stitches and watch the video tutorials because the instructions alone weren't enough. I had particular trouble with the "French bean" and "contour embroidery," but I figured those out by watching tutorials on French knots and stem stitching, respectively. Once you get the hang of the more difficult stitches, it's pretty relaxing and fun. I framed the resulting project and gave it to my friend as a gift, and she loved it. Great starter kit at a reasonable price!

I was very excited to get this for a Christmas gift last year, but was unable to finish it as the pattern rubbed-off halfway through. Very disappointing.

Loved doing this craft. As a beginner I had no idea what I was doing. Came with everything I needed and the instructions are super easy to follow. I will be ordering more

I am still a “newbie” when it comes to embroidery, so I found this one a bit tedious - especially the lettering! Phew!! But, it was all worth it, as I am thrilled with the final project! The kit had everything you need, including descriptions of each stitch. I also found some helpful YouTube tutorials.
