Do these use phermones or just glue?
Do these also catch pantry moths, i thought clothing moths were pale in color but my traps are full what look like indian meal moths?

Protection for Pennies!

First used these moth traps in my clothes closet a couple years ago as a way to know if any moths were present. I was amazed by the large number of tiny moths I found in these traps. Yet I had never actually seen any. I am so glad I tried them initially and will continue to use them. Such an inexpensive way to protect my wardrobe.

These really work

I have been using these traps for several months. They really do catch moths but I still see a few around. I am continuing to leave these traps out and put out some new ones, as they continue catching. The numbers caught in the new traps see to be dropping. Excellent product.

They work. ...but do they?

I bought several different brands of Closet Moth Traps to make sure that I had a decent chance of getting a quality product. I purchased:MaxGuard,Ecotastic,Trap-A-Pest, andDr Killigan’sI even got a pantry moth trap as well, to verify if I had any of those.Amongst 7 rooms (2 bedrooms, 2 closets and 3 bathrooms) I put multiple brands in each room, with each brand in at least 4 different rooms. For 3 months I’d check every trap once a week. Each trap had more moths than the week before (except for the pantry moth trap – the 4 of those I deployed caught one moth just by chance). The numbers of moths caught in each trap were surprising. No brand failed to catch at least 40 on at least one trap.So now I’m moth-free, right?Wrong. These traps lure in just the male moths. So if any male moth happens to mate with a female before being captured, there’s another fresh batch. I’ve been waging moth war for almost 2 years, and use other trap types as well (zappers, etc). There are a lot fewer of them flying around now, but I just can’t knock them out.I also kept some of each brand, and deployed them 1 year after purchase. NONE of those did well. Out of 16 traps, only 5 moths were caught. So I would recommend buying a new batch of traps every 6 months – deploying half right away, and the other half in 3 months.I checked all boxes for a manufacturing date. None had any on the outside. Dr. Killigan’s had one on the inside flap. Dr. Killigan’s also stated they would be good up to 3 years after manufacture (lies).Recommendations:They are all effective if used right away. Buy the one whose price or design you like. My design preference is MaxGuard and Dr. Killigan’s.If you are not having success, maybe your have different kinds of moths. Or you have expired traps.Hints on use for all brands:Write the date on it before you expose the glue.Bend the cardboard at least a little on the creases before exposing the glue – bending it afterward can cause sticky fingers. When pulling the paper off of the glue, start at one corner and firmly pull towards the opposite corner. Pulling from the center of the top makes it more difficult.

Works really well.

I have treated to houses with these traps. some pantry and some clothing. My fathers house had several areas that were infested, so we ended up putting up multiple traps at one time. in my house i had a smaller problem. after several months and several FULL traps we have not seen any more moths... we still have a few empty traps out just to monitor the situation.i must have a sensitive nose, because i can smell these when they are placed in a small confined space. its not bad but i defiantly can tell when they are in use.I was instructed not to put on too many as it would confuse the little buggers.i found placing one by my inside security camera helped attract them to the area and help me catch more moths.

These work entirely too well! Just buy them.

I had noticed 1 or 2 tiny moths flying around in my walk in closet. I decided to buy these and see what happened. I put all of them in my closet. They were super easy to set up, it was done in a couple minutes. When I tell you these work… they almost work too good! Scary good! Within 2 days, they had trapped 43 moths!!!! I’m so disgusted but so thankful for these traps.

Hook too small

Hook not big enough to hang on closet rod

Works great on clothes moths.

If you've correctly identified your moths as clothes moths, these traps will catch them.I first ordered traps of a different type (and a different brand) that were aimed at pantry moths (I misread the description). The moths happily ignored them. Got these traps instead and boom, the moths go for these traps. They must smell great if you're a moth. Totally odorless for this human, though.
