Outstanding quality and fit. Fits S&W Model 60 perfectly. Finish is excellent. Worth the cost,

Gorgeous, great materials, excellent craftsmanship and made in USA.
I was hoping that the Altamont - S&W J Round Revolver Grips would not meet up to my expectations. I had recently purchased an excellent rubber grip replacement, but the Altamont grip looked stunning in the pics and I gave me a feeling that it would fit like a glove....it did.The most difficult thing about installing the grips was changing out the grip pin, where the original pin may be too long (or wide, depending on how you look at it). I already replaced the original pin with my previous rubber grip replacement. Fit and finish were excellent and perfect and you could barely tell that it was installed in two halves. The wood grain and carving are practically mirrored on both sides which leads me to believe that it was crafted from the same chunk of wood. Absolutely gorgeous...if you can use those words to describe a grip. Now for the negatives, which don't bother me but are worth mentioning.Firstly, although it fits your hand like a glove, it is significantly thicker than the original S&W plate grips. When emptying spent rounds, one of the shell casings may get snagged on the grip and take a little giggling to get out. This also probably means that it may interfere with certain speed loaders.Secondly, when using a Blade-Tech Klipt j-frame holster, the edge of the grips by the trigger guard expands the holster and makes things not as tight. I will probably grind down the plastic edge of the holster to make it fit a little better and stay tighter. In closing, the negatives had more to do with deciding to get thicker form fitting grips rather than any fault of the design or manufacturer. The plain grips that I purchased were gorgeous. The rosewood was as high quality as the craftsmanship. This product makes "Made in USA" mean something. I would absolutely recommend.

Looks/works fine
Installed on a Chiefs Special. I’d wanted a set of Lady Smith grips but they were constantly out-of-stock and these looked similar.

Awesome grips
Normally ditch the factory grips especially if wood. NOT this time I have a S&W 642 j frame 38 +P the factory grips are horrible, Hogue not much better can't shoot hot loads with only 1 and 1/2 fingers holding this light of a gun. Ah hah the Alta Mont grip allows a full grip and slightly larger grip still works because of the smooth finish, still can pocket carry does not hang up or stick because of rubber or plastic sticky grips. Installed in 5 minutes or less also they are beautiful not that anyone ever sees them. lol Made in America top notch.. oh I can also hit my targets now!

Beautiful!
These are beautiful grips and really set off the look of my S&W 642. The fit is excellent and they are easy to install. My only complaint is that they hurt my hand when I shoot +P in my light weight S&W. I know that this is to be expected but DAMN! I use a rubber grip for shooting but will put these beautiful wooden grips back on if I ever sell it. They look good, fit good and well made along with being a good value.

Fine craftsmanship from Altamont.
These are the perfect over-sized grips (if you want wood) for my J frame and they are beautiful. The picture in the ad does not do them justice and it makes them look oddly shiny. Even the picture on the mfg website makes these look super red and way too shiny, but they are not on both counts. Rosewood can be shifted read or brown. These are a little more brown and have lots of darker grain in them. I'm happy with them. I bought a really nice looking pair of their boot grips, but they would be just too small for comfort if you went to the range and shot magnums or plus P's.

Purchased for late model SW 38 airweight.
Beautiful grips. Much better for my very large hands than the factory rubber. Lends more control and accuracy when using weapon. That being said, when these arrived they were a perfectly matched pair and beautiful in appearance. When I installed them on my frame however they would "offset" very slightly leaving a small ridge front and back. Three times I removed and reinstalled these with the same results. I still have the grips installed and love them anyway...this firearm is a carry piece and is subject to abuse during a farmers normal day. In fact, it's already scratched up from a Ram pushing me into a wall lol. Bottom line, I would buy these again without hesitation. This tiny fitment issue is only visible when looking closely. Great product.
