My daughter loved the color works great easy to clean easy to set up. She understood it quickly.

Bought this for my nine year-old little girl let’s just say she loved it and it was worth money. Well spent good quality love the tools. It came with easy to set up easy to clean. She loved the color only thing you might need when you buy this is buy a small little seat or a stool Maybe something about the size of a little stepstool you know when they had to step on to brush your teeth, something like that so they can sit down and do it. My daughter does it over there on the tile that way the Clay’s pretty easy to clean up the splatters just mop it.Now, when we first got it, it was kind of loud. I just sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on the spinner, and it went away quickly and ran smoothly. Just need a little bit of oil.Lol what doesn’t WD-40 fix lol

Great performance for the money.

I'm relatively happy with the purchase. It was a cheaper pottery wheel for its size and capabilities. It seems to be working very well and is quite easy to use and clean. You can use this to throw the smallest of tea cups or the largest of pots so long as your pots base is not larger in diameter than the wheel which I have not had a problem with. It is a very good entry level pottery wheel.

It's good, but...

It's my first wheel and I DO like it. I've used it almost everyday for a month from throwing to trimming and it does a decent job. Easy to use, and a strong frame. But it has a hard time keep it's RPMs when I try to center stiffer clay almost to a crawl. I am left foot dominant and the power and pedal cords are both long enough and accommodating. My biggest complaint is the plastic pedal. It does pop off its mounts and has popped off the pedal completely and with hands covered in slip trying to realign and pop the pedal back on. It happens more often the more often it happens. The tool kit is nice, cheap but honestly I'm still using some of them. Would I buy another for a friend? maybe. Would I buy again for myself? No.

Great!

Really solid little wheel ! Its short, so keep that in mind.

This thing works well! Editing after 1 month use:

The pedal moves the hand shifter, which bumps into the knob for left or right spin, I might see if I can remove it. This causes an un-smooth increase in speed. Not a big issue, for me yet. The wheel has become etched and lightly pitted when I have a pat of clay down for a while. Most importantly, there is a flaw in the plastic, snap together splash guard, leaving a gap on either side, if water sloshes it runs down, under and around the wheel base and down the sides to the floor. I plugged mine with putty. But it’s silent, smooth, and darn cute. I’m a beginner, if it’s still running when I outgrow it then it’s a steal!! I still love it.

Wobble

The pottery wheel wobbles. You can hear a slight ‘thunk’ every rotation and see the post wobble as it turns. Would be impossible to throw pottery. Also, there seems to be a major design flaw with the positioning of the directional switch and the post/knob attached to the foot pedal. The switch is in the way of the post when you push the foot pedal to about half speed, making it impossible to reach full speed. Maybe could’ve worked past this (post is removable) but the wobble made it unusable.

Really fun and simple

Works well and is easy to get the hang of. Easy assembly and cleaning too.

Good wheel for beginners

While the product works satisfactorily, it is definitely not a professional quality wheel. I was set to buy a $600 wheel but the well known company is having trouble fullfilling the orders and I wanted it right away, so I checked Amazon and found this one. I was afraid the torque would not be strong enough for centering, but that did not prove to be a problem. I've had a number of professional wheels over the years but I haven't thrown pots for five years and wanted to get back into it.Several characteristics are a little troublesome. The cord to the foot pedal is too short. It limits where you can put the wheel on stands or table tops. Otherwise you have to use it on the floor and sit on a low stool. I need to stand up to throw, so will build a stand for it. May have to put the pedal on a step. The wheel has a nice paint job which cleans easily but the removable pan is really hard to separate and put together, so I had to sand down the grabbers to make the joining of the two halves easier. The foot pedal is not as responsive as more expensive models but is adequate. You need to anchor the wheel somehow or when you center the wheel will move around because it is not very heavy. When I build a stand I will have a fence around the top to lock in the legs. the picture shows the wheel against a cupboard to keep it from sliding. The wheel is not made to throw big pots using 10 to 20 lbs of clay. But it should be fine for five lbs or so. That will make a lot of nice functional pieces. There's also no bat system. (platters that go on the wheel head to make for easy removal of pots to dry.) Anything you make you have to cut off with a wire. Be sure to order a pair of "lifters" so you can pick up wet pots without distorting them.I'm 82. so I'm past the days of throwing giant pots, but I think this inexpensive wheel will do nicely for what I want to do.
