The focus is on the guitar

OK, the focus in on the guitar - keep that in mind as you read this review. I waited several days after receiving my Vangoa 12-string guitar before writing this review to make sure my review is fair and honest. This 12-string guitar is well built and has a really nice sound, even with the strings that come installed on it. It is comfortable to hold and play. It does not appear to need any adjustment by a luthier which is nice for instrument of this price level. The action is where it needs to be so, for a 12 string it is easy to play. I used my SWIFF wireless transmitter/receiver into my Fender Acoustasonic amp and it sounded really nice (though I need to tinker with the settings on both pieces of equipment). The accessories that come with the guitar have some issues. I had a string break almost immediately after tuning it, but sometimes that happens when tuning new strings on any guitar. The good news is that it came with a spare set of strings, so I replaced the string with one from the spare set and was up and running again. The tuner that came with the guitar is a bit difficult to use, but once I figured it out, I was able to use it. And I used the tuner next to my Snark and it worked correctly. The capo is a bit of a problem because the rubber that contacts the strings is inflexible, so while it may work OK on a 6-string, it does not hold the higher octave strings down properly resulting in muted sounds. The guitar comes with a strap which is great if you are a short person with short arms, but I am not, so I need to get a longer strap. The guitar bag is OK, but since all of my guitars get their own case, I'll be ordering one soon. All of this accessory stuff is immaterial, though.Remember: the focus is on the guitar. This 12-string guitar has a very nice feel and sound and I have not been able to keep my hands off it for the last 5 days. I did a lot of research before making the purchases and am completely satisfied with my choice. It is a great addition to my collection.

What is there to not like about this guitar?!

With 6+ guitars in my studio, did I really need one more? That question was answered with a resounding "YES" when I played the Vangoa 12 string acoustic guitar. The sound is rich - not just from the additional pair of strings, but the creation of so many harmonics with the lighter gauge strings. The quality of sound is undoubtedly better than my Yamaha guitars. Many will appreciate the low-action of this guitar, making it easy on the fingers. The workmanship is impeccable and the guitar stands out when compared with my remaining guitars. The guitar is heavier than 6-string versions especially at the stalk, and when wearing a shoulder-strap, the stalk will tend to droop downwards due to its weight. Now for a few negatives. 12-string guitars have much more stresses on them, increasing the likelihood of warping. I handle this by tuning the strings to a whole note lower to reduce the stress. The second G-string snapped when trying to tune to a "G" - added reason to tune it down by a whole note. The included capo is not strong enough for 12-strings. But my older Dunlop capos had no issue with the 12-strings. Be aware that the people who will enjoy this 12-string guitar the most are those who play rhythm with mostly open-string chords. Playing barre chords with acoustic guitars is anyway a paradox. It is not easy to do finger-picking with the 12-string, and so is of limited value there. Bottom-line - this is a fantastic instrument at an affordable price-point. Acoustic musicians will enjoy this guitar - so grab it before it runs out!

Good guitar, late delivery.

The Guitar is actually pretty good. It plays well and sounds good. I would guess that it's quality would close to that of a lower end Ibanez our Yamaha

Really quality of guitar and accessories for the price!

I was hesitant to buy a guitar without personally seeing it and trying it out but the price and accessories tempted me too much. I was pleasantly surprised by this guitar. My first 12 string. It arrived in good time and in great shape. It plays well and the accessories put it over the top. Very good sound. So far, so good!

I feel like it’s an incredible value

The guitar was delivered to me in good condition by UPS. I've had it for 4 days and I feel like it’s an incredible value. It's a well crafted high quality guitar.I’ve been playing guitar for about 40 years but this is the first 12 string that I’ve played. Finding Youtube videos about 12 string guitars from musicians with decades of experience with them helped me. While playing it for the first couple hours I kept smiling and laughing because I couldn't believe the quality of it.There’s lots of videos on tuning 12 string guitars. It's common to tune them down a whole step (D standard) or more and to use a capo (included in the kit) if needed to play E standard, etc.. Tuning down puts a lot less stress on the guitar. Tuning to E standard can put over 200 pounds of tension on them. I’m currently tuning mine to C# standard.

Not a beginner guitar

The neck on this guitar started to bow as soon as I tighten the strings when I got them to standard pitch neck was bowed a neck on a 12 string guitar should never bow that means that it's got a weak neck.(popelar?)know I had a takamine and a Taylor 12 string guitar and both necks are there were very strong I could have put 24 strings on them and the neck would not have bowed.you cannot put a pine or poplar neck on a 12 string it HAS to be a hardwood.when are you people going to comprehend that????????

Excellent Guitar

I have been playing guitar my whole life. I highly can recommend this one. I wanted a 12 string again but did not want to spend alot of money. Having spent years having to set up my own guitars, thought I could make this work. To my surprise I took it out of the box and was amazed by the tone and ease of play. I Let my daughter play it who loved the action better than a Martin. This guitar would be great for a beginner or a 50 plus player like me. I have had this guitar for over a year and it shows no signs of wourping, Or stress on the neck like 12 strings tend to do.
