They will definitely last a lot longer if you always hand wash them, but I've put mine through the dishwasher for months now with no damage to the ceramic surface. Ultimately it's up to you.

Yes, these GreenLife pans can absolutely be used on glass electric cook tops. That's what we do, and they work great!

Q: What is the diameter of the base of the 12" pan? my induction jenn air cook top can only take a 9" base max.

In the words of Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by -that- much. Approximate measurement of the flat base is 9.75 inches. One can quibble about an eighth of an inch here or there, but definitely larger that 9 inches. Excellent pans, though!

Q: Aluminum has health issues of its own. Does the food have any contact with the aluminum?

No, as long as you baby these pans and take super good care of them. Once the coating gets chipped or scratched, they wouldn’t be considered safe, for those who care. Take good care of them and follow the manufacturers guidelines to a T though, and they will be great! I've had mine a year this month. I only use the specific oil or butter that they suggest, never high heat, hand wash carefully, only silicone utensils, stack carefully and use felt protectors in between each pan. Never a problem.
