Ideal extension for a limited access socket
Most older houses like ours have a limited number of mains sockets and often in places which are too low (on a skirting board) or with limited access. I particularly wanted this one for the kitchen where we have a single socket and a switch for the cooker on a wall panel. The socket is directly below a shelf and is does not allow adaptors which go upwards, - unless the shelf is removed. This one hangs downwards and converts the single socket into 3 switchable sockets. The 3 USB charging ports are an addition bonus. The lower sockets also allow one of them to take a power meter which goes above the socket and would otherwise fit due to the shelf. The meter has allowed measurement and costing of various kitchen appliances in an attempt to cut back on high energy bills. The item worked so well I bought a second one for another location with similar restricted access. It is not the cheapest extension socket you can get but the short flexible cord makes it very adaptable to different locations of the socket. It can even cope with skirting board sockets as the cord will bend and allow the sockets to lie flat on the floor. It is well made and seems very safe, although that short flexible cord may be a weak point (no problems so far) as all the plugged in items hang from it.

good idea
This item was perfect for my needs, the house we are renting has limited sockets these extension are a god send i have purchased three of these now, they are very good as there are individual switches to turn off the sockets, however the unit needs to be adhered to the wall really, so i feel sticky fixings could be included as an alternative to using screws.i hv bought two so far and about to order another two. -quite expensive.

The ideal solution
This extension socket is really great as it has everything. 3 switched sockets for standard 3 pin plugs, 3 USB sockets and a very short lead which is so tidy and it enables the item to be flexed which has many advantages. And the whole thing is so sturdy and well made.

Perfect for it's intended purpose
Was looking for a type of mains splitter and wanted something ideally about 20-30 cm long, so figured that i'd give this a try..Just about perfect for my purpose - the three sockets hang just low enough to be discreetly hidden behind a rack up against the wall/skirting... while at the same time still allowing access to the three sockets.Works a treat.

Adding extra sockets to the
...meagre number in hotel rooms. Our regular hotel room (Travellodge) seems to have missed out on the need for many more than two or three 13A outlets all in awkward places. Most guests will have at least 5 devices or other items that need connecting. Agreed one could shift sockets to allow the use of a hairdryer in place of the fridge.Once you have the kettle, travel fridge and TV plugged in. The usual the limit of one double and a single outlet is very quickly occupied. Many hotels do not have even this modest allocation of 13A outlets. This unit will be part of our travel electrics kit - chargers, Computer, Tablet etc - hopefully with 3 USB outlets to trickle charge MIDs and phones. The USB outlets are low level power outlets which may compromise the off-grid use of phone and other MID items. We originally carried a 2m 4-way extension strip but now this can be reduced to just this unit and some USB leads along with a PD type USBc type charger.Having used the unit for a few days it seems to work OK.The only slight downside is connection to a vertical socket outlet means the flex puts the outlets at an odd angle, and the only other socket is so close to the work/desk space is so tight some mains adapters will never fit; it was very difficult to get the moulded on plug inserted due to the stress relief sleeve.Once inserted the stress relief puts a load on the connection - which may not be good for either plug or wall socket into the longer term. A good effort but it might be slightly more flexible if the short length of flex was 30mm longer.
